Americans Have Been Marked By God For Destruction

Leaving Egypt Ministries, Paul Maitrejean

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding”(Proverbs 9:10).

In a vision in Ezekiel 9, God tells an angel to go out and put a mark on the foreheads of all the people in Jerusalem who haven’t fallen into idolatry, but who rather “mourn and cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof” (v. 4) — and then, He sends other angels to slaughter everyone who hasn’t received the mark (v. 6).

This is how God has always dealt with a rebellious people. And I think those marks (or lack thereof) are apparent when we know what to look for. We are able to see who is marked as a supporter of the evil world system, and who isn’t — whether someone fears men and gives into their systems, or if they fear the Lord and refuse to participate in them.

When the “Covid” scam came around, it was really easy to tell who had fallen for the lies spewed from the state-sponsored talking heads. The mindlessly obedient and fearful donned their masks, stood six feet apart, neurotically applied hand sanitizer, and locked themselves away in their homes. They had been marked (or left without one) as those who complied unquestioningly with the demands of the State. I remember actually exchanging companionable nods and greetings with the people in public who weren’t wearing face diapers. They and I knew the other guy wasn’t falling for the lie. The rest were the mask-clad lemmings mobbing and mumbling their way mindlessly along with the Current Thing.

That round of scares is over. Now we’ve moved on to something new to keep us all biting our nails: The 2024 election.

Perhaps it isn’t as in your face (if you’ll excuse the expression) this time as with the Covid debacle, but it has still been apparent enough. We see that the people with Trump or Biden signs, shirts, bumper stickers, and flags, are marked as idolaters. They don’t fear God’s judgment because they are so full of pride. They wave their “thin blue line” flags as if nothing has gone wrong in our world of political bondage, which they still foolishly think is “freedom.”

And now, since the sloppy psyop passing itself off as an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, people on the so-called “right” have especially made their marks clear, highlighted them in neon, and attached blaring klaxons to make sure no mistake is made. When they aren’t wearing bandages on their ears in “solidarity” with their hero, dancing on overpasses with banners, and wearing shirts depicting a fist-pumping Donald, they’re foaming at the mouth to rip the throats out of those damned dirty Democrats.

All you have to do is mention “Trump,” whether positive or negative, and you’ll get a reaction. You know where they stand. The way they are marked—whether mourners of the idolatry or blatant partakers in it—is very clear.

Almost daily, I’m fielding rabid online comments by people who would love to see me hanged by my own entrails simply because I do not support Donald Trump.

I have no doubt that if, God forbid, I were to walk into a modern “conservative” church and blaspheme Christ, the reaction would be far less vitriolic than if I were to walk into that same church and speak ill of Donald Trump. They have exchanged the fear of the Lord for the fear of the State and its representatives, and thus, they have exchanged reason for madness. There is no wisdom to be found in them. They are covens of fools.

In the Bible, the forehead depicts the seat of thought.

God commands his people to figuratively wear His commandments on their forehead:

“You shall also tie them as a sign to your hand, and they shall be as frontlets on your forehead” (Deuteronomy 6:8).

The forehead is where the prefrontal cortex, the rational, decision-making part of the brain, resides. Here is the wheelhouse for the brain. How you respond to any given situation is determined by the prefrontal cortex. When God’s commandments are foremost in our thoughts, our reactions to things will be guided accordingly.

But those who have a different mark on their foreheads will not act according to God’s commandments. They will respond foolishly, emotionally, and destructively. Fools who follow such impulses are easily controlled by their enemies.

This is how I understand the “mark of the beast” in Revelation as well – not as a bar code, microchip, or social security number, but as the thoughts and morals (or lack thereof) of the people bearing the mark.

Today, the people are marked, one way or the other, as either giving into the political idolatry or refusing to put their hand to it. They have been marked (or in the case of Ezekiel 9, unmarked) for destruction.

But how could God command His own angel to go forth and mark people to be spared or killed? Would He actually put thoughts and ideas in peoples heads to mark them for perdition?

For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness” (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12).

God always gives us what we want if we demand it enough. And that isn’t always a good thing. If we prefer lies to truth, then God will give us all the lies we can stand, as punishment for rejecting the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). He lets us wallow in whatever form of rebellion we’ve chosen, giving us plenty of rope to hang ourselves. He allows us to suffer under evil regimes, which He uses to teach us a lesson in our own evils.

Oh yes. He is indeed a jealous, vengeful God.

“A jealous and avenging God is the LORD; The LORD is avenging and wrathful. The LORD takes vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves wrath for His enemies. The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, And the LORD will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. In the gale and the storm is His way, And clouds are the dust beneath His feet” (Nahum 1:2-3).

Today, the great motivator for people today is not truth. Rather, they are motivated by hatred, fear, and pride. People vote for Democrats because they hate Trump so badly. Others vote for Trump because they hate Democrats so badly. They’re motivated by fear of what might happen if the other team gets their way (when they should be fearing what God does to men who support these systems). “The right” is motivated by a desire to drink liberal tears. “The left” is motivated by a desire to crush racist, sexist Nazis.

The recent “assassination” soap opera only solidified this. Those marks are indelible now. On “the left,” people bemoan that Trump wasn’t killed. On “the right,” people want revenge. Each side of the manufactured dichotomy is ready to tear the other apart, even though they’re more alike than they are different, having only different idols. They’re beyond reason. It’s madness unleashed. The zombie apocalypse has ratcheted up a dozen notches.

The marks today are unmistakable.

Destruction is imminent, and it’s doubtful that men will wake up in time. Men are notoriously hard-headed when it comes to their “god” of the State.

With all this shameless flaunting of idolatry, the Angel of Death will have no trouble figuring out exactly who’s who.

In what form that destruction will come, only God knows, but I have little doubt that, if we ever needed Christ’s blood on our doorposts and lintels, there has seldom been a time like the present. As Jesus once said,

But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them in my presence” (Luke 19:27).

But on the positive side, those of us who do not fall for the charade can keep on nodding to each other in recognition across the churning, roaring masses. It’s getting easier to spot the marks of a man (or lack thereof).

Furthermore, an increasing number of people are slowly but surely figuring out that there’s something rotten in Denmark. They’re noticing that we have been marked for destruction. They may not quite have a finger on the solution, but they’re noticing. The growing tendency toward libertarian/anarchistic thought, though carrying with it its own set of issues, indicates people are looking for answers. And that is a Mars’ Hill of fertile soil.

I suggest that we dust our feet of the Republican/Democrat crowd and focus on those who are still looking for something better, the people who have become disillusioned and want to believe that there is something beyond this elephant and donkey show we call “politics.” While the left/right paradigm tears each other apart in a blind rage, I suggest we look for the people extracting themselves from it in search of greener grass.

And in this case, the grass is indeed much, much greener. There is so much waiting for us, when we make God our God and give up our faith in men.

The LORD is my shepherd, I will not be in need. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness. For the sake of His name. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life, And my dwelling will be in the house of the LORD forever” (Psalm 23).
