While repentance must necessarily precede salvation and change, many in our society today seek to be saved without first repenting. They refuse to renounce the political evils they have participated in or apologize to God for the demonic spirit of statism and nationalism that still grips their hearts. In fact, they are once again loudly calling for the American Empire to be restored in all her glory — a “glorious” and prideful state system which God’s true prophets always tell us will be destroyed (Isa 13:19).
There is a vague desire for freedom among some people, but they are unwilling to repent of the very sins that led to their bondage in the first place. They find no reason to change their ways, especially now that a new political savior has come. Rather, they desire that men in office deliver them from the scourge of statism.
Many men today appear increasingly disillusioned with the political system that has always worked against them, yet they stubbornly cling to the very factors that precipitated this situation. They remain unrepentant toward the system itself. Most of their outrage is focused only on the man in charge of that system. Despite their disillusionment, many maintain an unwavering faith in the idea of political leadership in principle, taking issue only with the particular person in power. Like the Marxian socialists, the conservative socialists have more of an issue with those who hold the power than the power itself. With a changing of the guard, many are now turning back to the idea that the new government will rescue them from…well, government.
A newfound trust in government appears to have emerged among supporters who would surely feel less optimistic if their preferred candidate had not won the election. They now feel like they have a guy in there to fight for them.
The incoming administration has fueled many with a new hope. In his victory speech, Donald Trump energized voters with the vision of a prosperous new era for America. He and his supporters are now speaking of a coming “Golden Age.” Trump said,
“Every citizen, I will fight for you, for your family and your future. Every single day, I will be fighting for you. And with every breath in my body, I will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve. This will truly be the golden age of America. That’s what we have to have. This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again.”
Equating state power and strength with righteousness and freedom, he added,
“We will make America safe, strong, prosperous, powerful and free again. And I’m asking every citizen all across our land to join me in this noble and righteous endeavor.”
A change in elite strategy?
In response, there has been a rather cheerful optimism expressed by supporters of the incoming presidency and the supposedly new direction of the country. We might wonder how this came about. Is this what the ruling elites needed to cause a distraction in an empire that is facing numerous challenges? Could it be a calculated attempt to pacify the public in the face of mounting problems? Is this a way to make them forget about the police state, their enslavement to government, and ruling elite of beneficiaries of this system?
As the public has become more aware of these schemes, it appears those who choose the puppets have shifted tactics. Whereas men were edging closer to losing faith in the system entirely, the disgruntled masses are now being fed a false savior who is going to “reform” the Babylonian state system. This has given some people a renewed hope in the failing empire.
As Trump said in his victory speech, “This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again.” He added, “We’re gonna turn our country around.” The Vice President-elect, JD Vance, is promising “the greatest economic comeback in American history under Donald Trump’s leadership.”
No need to repent?
Countless fools and false prophets are now spreading the deception that “government will be ‘we the people’ again.” They are offering a false hope to those oppressed by the system, quelling their anger with the promise of a savior to solve their problems. These men are offering a sort of salvation that supposedly circumvents the need for repentance. “Just trust in us, we’re going to take care of it for you.”
These false prophets preach that the people need not repent or renounce statism. They don’t need to reject the kingdoms of this world or weep over the bondage they have gotten themselves into and profess that they will no longer be servants of these satanic systems that are enemies of God. The deceivers are instead telling men to place their faith in a new (or rather returning) set of leaders who will reshape government into what it “should” be.
However, this is a deceptive “easy way out” that fails to address the core issues of bondage and servitude to these inherently corrupt systems, which is the sin that leads men into it. It makes men believe that they are going to be liberated merely by seeking the “right” men in office when all such faith in men is a means of turning your back on God.
Dressing the wounds
With the return of Trump, the weary public has been manipulated into believing they have a dog in the fight again, that “their” government is actually beginning to represent and resemble “the people” again. The masses are being assured that all is well, that they are in good hands once again. The “villains” have been defeated, and the “heroes” have arrived to restore national pride. “America is back” and they no longer need to worry about what God says always happens to these systems. Get your flags back out on your houses again if you put them away for the last few years! There is every reason for them to proudly wave again!
But these men are merely throwing a band aid over a giant, open wound to make men think it will stop the bleeding. Instead of addressing the root causes, they propose superficial solutions to make people believe the problems have been resolved. They are not actually healing the underlying wounds, which stem from the people’s sinful statist ideology. They are applying dressing to the wound but not telling the people how to heal them. If they were teaching the people repentance, they would tell the people to stop putting their trust in princes and kings. Indeed, they would reject the office altogether. But they are acting like doctors who prescribe a pill to the sick without addressing the causes of their sickness. They don’t tell the people to stop eating the sugar of statism, but are selling them on a weight loss pill or a surgery to trim the fat.
Rather than calling for true repentance, the men coming along to “make America great again” are simply giving illusions of mending the damage that has already been done. They are promising that good can result from an evil system and are feeding the people a false hope of a better tomorrow for a people who still refuse to repent from a statist system. As one of God’s prophets said,
“They have dressed the wound of My people with very little care, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace at all” (Jeremiah 6:14)
We’re living under an empire that is doomed to collapse and cannot be saved, yet false prophets have come along to preach a future of prosperity with the help of this very crumbling system. The timing seems all too convenient. Just as people have grown more critical of government intrusion, a new set of overseers has emerged to falsely prophesy a great American future for a people who have still not repented of statism. They are telling men effectively that they do not need to do anything right by the Lord, only that they need to pick the “right” set of masters. Like the false prophets of old, they claim no need for repentance, only renewed faith in a fundamentally corrupt system.
The false prophets are misleading people by promising a future apart from devotion to God’s Kingdom. They are attempting to make men believe there is another way than through God. Their aim is to revive the fading public optimism towards the State over the last four years and steer men’s sights back to the particular officeholders as the source of their problems. It’s almost as if Operation Covid 19 never happened. The sheep are being brought back to feed out of the hands of wolves.
Renewed hope?
They seem to be doing a good job at manipulating men’s emotions. These false prophets have rather suddenly managed to transform a recently pessimistic populace into a state of great optimism following the election. A great number of conservative voters believe that an actual “American Golden Age” is upon us. They proclaim that “America is back,” as if the nation’s issues stem solely from the individual in office rather than the system itself. Recently I overheard a conversation in public of Trump voters going so far as to claim that “the New World Order has been thwarted,” “the Deep State is finished,” “Trump is coming to clean house,” “we’re going to be rich like we’ve never seen before.” This is how frighteningly optimistic some are, showing just how little they know about God’s promises of overturning all such political systems as ours.
A good number of professing Christians are buying into all this too. Those who voted are almost compelled to share in the enthusiasm so as it say their vote and time wasn’t wasted. They’re almost forced to look for some fruit in order to tell us that voting is necessary.
At any rate, we’re seeing a renewed sense of optimism among these voters towards the government, in stark contrast to the skepticism they held during the previous four years under ostensibly “Democratic” leadership. This helps to assist their arbitrary thinking that not all those in the political arena are adversaries of God, just those with a “D” in front of their name.
There seems to be a dramatic shift in the level of hope that men have for “America” after the election victory of the guy perceived to be the candidate of the average working American. It is seemingly what had to be engineered. The increased resentment and disillusionment that would come if another “Democrat” had been elected might have been unbearable. There was already beginning to be something of a prevailing sentiment on the street that the government is not actually “we the people” as they have claimed. This has changed with the coming of Trump into office. There is a sigh of relief that they’re safe again and can sleep at night without worrying that “their” country is being run by bad guys. They are doing a great job at instilling a sense of complacency in the people that they would not have felt if their perceived enemies had gained power. Without believing they landed a victory, the people might be forced to strategize their future better and look toward God for aid. Now, the people feel they can rest easy, believing “their country” is in “good hands” once more. The future, they are told, is bright. Government no longer needs to be considered sinful, evil, satanic, and bent on slavery and murder. Its only problem was the “wrong” guy controlling it. That’s fixed now. And “Praise God!”
In scripture, these are the situations when men are caught off guard.
“While people are saying, ‘Peace and security,’ destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:3).
False prophets
The incoming government, which is making people assume they are saved merely by a new set of man-gods, seems to be playing the role of classic false prophets: Telling the people that the crisis has been averted by voting correctly. They are making people believe that there will be no day of reckoning for the empire of debt, plunder, murder, sin, and lies. They are making men believe that the sin of statism will go unpunished, as the new leaders are coming to reform the old problems and remove the evil elements of government. Essentially, they are convincing people that the American political system will avoid divine judgment — that God doesn’t punish Egyptian systems for their sin of violence and plunder against people. As one of God’s prophets said of these deceivers,
“The prophets are telling them, ‘You will not see the sword or suffer famine, but I will give you lasting peace in this place’” (Jeremiah 14:13).
The people claiming Egypt will be saved and the inherent sewage in these systems will be drained are false prophets, sent to restore an idolatrous hope in the people and keep them looking to their captors for salvation. These voices should not be heeded..
“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They are filling you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD’” (Jeremiah 23:16).
They are just more false prophets who have come to midlead the people and lure them back into political faith by promising peace and prosperity through the Babylonian system (Ez 13:10). Instead of calling for a return to the Lord and an abandonment of the systems of the world, as any real prophet would do, they are encouraging people to place their faith in government once more. “The government is going serve the people again like it’s supposed to be.”
Lack of true prophets today
Many of these supporters of “restoring America” consider themselves Christians, too, as if reforming Babylonian systems is a Christian principle and goal. Many of them have been misled by dishonest religious leaders into believing a particular political candidate can save them from socialism. “We have to vote against the evils,” these men were telling us up to the election. These crony leaders, who have great reach on the platforms and podiums of the world, do not warn their followers about the evils of engaging with such political systems, and have even gone so far as to claim it is sinful not to support and vote for these new masters.
Instead of guiding their flocks, many pastors have failed to heed God’s word. In the absence of true shepherds who warn of the wolves trotting into the pasture, the sheep have been left to wander. Naturally, they have run into political-gods to “save” them. Though some of these pastors may be ignorant, others are most certainly doing the work of the devil in keeping men from the truth and driving them back into the world of lies so that they can never find their way back home. This is the same as the false pastors from the scriptures, who God says “have scattered My flock and driven them away, and have not tended to them” (Jeremiah 23:2). Their very purpose is to make men believe that certain politicians serve them. These false prophets work to “strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns his back on wickedness” (Jeremiah 23:14). This is true whether they remain silent about the dangers of statist systems, or when they positively endorse “godly” political candidates. Rather than feeding their congregations the wisdom and nourishment of God’s kingdom, these pastors are more focused on their own celebrity and wealth.
And so we have very few real prophets out there who preach repentance from the systems of men and a return to the Lord as the only means of truly being safe, secure, and prosperous.
“Israel’s watchmen are blind, they are all oblivious; they are all mute dogs, they cannot bark; they are dreamers lying around, loving to slumber. Like ravenous dogs, they are never satisfied. They are shepherds with no discernment; they all turn to their own way, each one seeking his own gain” (Isaiah 56:10-11).
Deceiving Christians
Many of these lies appear to be gaining traction, as many self-professed Christians have turned their focus away from God’s kingdom and toward the worldly pursuits and affairs of man’s government, placing their hopes there for change. Disregarding divine warnings of the inevitable judgment that comes upon these kingdoms of men and their duty to have no part in such ungodliness, many now eagerly anticipate the future of the state system. With the help of a few new faces, they have forgotten that those who love the world are turning away from God.
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world” (1 John 2:15-16).
The Bible clearly states that we are not to be friends with the systems of the world. We are not compromise our devotion to God and give our hearts to the kingdoms of this world and their rulers. As much as it is an unpopular message to suggest that those who lust after the world’s kingdoms are not Christian, it is not as if we are making an unwarranted and hateful claim to do so.
“You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” (James 4:4).
The love of the State
Now that men have been made to believe a “Golden Age for America” lies ahead, there is more of a chance that men will become increasingly invested in returning to the world when the very thing that is needed for things to change is to turn away from it and back to God. There is the chance that they will not abandon their statism after all the deception that a government is coming to serve their interests once more — a prospect that would have been much greater without thinking they had an American hero in office now. One pseudo-libertarian political commentator opines that what appears to be on its way is “an entirely new form of government responsive to actual voters.”
It is as if they have already forgotten about the evils that remain worthy of repentance. Despite living under a corrupt political system that has exploited, oppressed, and harmed its citizens, most people mistakenly believe the sole issue is the leader overseeing these schemes. They don’t care that the system itself rests on violence, robbery, and murder. They refuse to acknowledge the country’s long history of misdeeds, which they continue to venerate, especially now that “their” candidate is returning to power. They seem to think that electing a new figurehead is sufficient reason to refrain from repenting, that they can persist in supporting the same old plunder system and remain unwilling to renounce it because a new guy will be in charge.
Those who are excited about the State now that a new set of government officials have arrived do not show true repentance. When God looks down, He sees voters who call themselves “Christians” but still back the same corrupt system in principle. He sees people who have yet to repent for their idolatry. He sees people who believe they don’t need to repent to be saved, because the new political leaders are coming to solve their problems. He sees people who won’t confess that they share much of the guilt in a system that “has oppressed the poor and needy and have exploited the foreign resident without justice” (Ezekiel 22:29).
Freedom without repentance?
Believing that “America is back,” most people see no need to prepare for God’s kingdom as a means of salvation. They assume the change they seek will come from human institutions and leaders, rather than through repentance. With the new presidency, they expect that change will happen without any personal transformation. They believe they’re off the hook from repenting because they voted for the “godly candidate” who is making sure that evil doesn’t take over.
As we see, men don’t want to do the things it takes to actually change things, which is to look at the inward man. They want others to do it for them. They don’t actually want to construct the literal kingdom of God by networking with their neighbors. They want the government to do things for them. They don’t want to get free by seeking the Lord. They want the government to liberate them from itself. They don’t want to repent of the very statist ideology that had led to their captivity, which they think is “freedom.” They just want the government to have “better guys” in charge.
As we see, men often shirk the personal responsibility required for meaningful change. They prefer to delegate that work to others. They give up their duties to God and neighbor to the people who Jesus called false benefactors, who, as opposed to the Christian method of voluntary charity, carry out their form of welfare by exercising authority over men. Our people have abdicated responsibility to government agents to fix their problems. They expect the government to fulfill social obligations rather than taking initiative to build godly families and communities. They cling to the very statist ideologies that have ensnared them and come to think they have no spiritual duty to turn away from these worldly ideas.
This is the problem of men today. The false prophets of today spin statist lies and fail to address the root of the problem, which is sin and unrepentance. They do not encourage people to acknowledge their own complicity in the system they claim to dislike. They do not call for them to repent of the sins that lead to bondage. Instead, these false prophets merely point people towards man-made deities, promising to “save” them and “make America great again.” There is no call to confess sin and take responsibility for the rulers we have brought upon ourselves. The solution, they claim, is simply to trade one master for another, to be “liberated” by a new man-made savior. The fundamental issues are left unaddressed.
Any discerning man should know better than to believe the false promises of false gods and their false prophets, being that they never once told anyone to turn back to the Lord. “The visions of your prophets were empty and deceptive; they did not expose your guilt to ward off your captivity” (Lamentations 2:14). True prophets say, “You have sinned, now repent, and seek the kingdom of God.”
