A Plea to God on a Cold January Day

Leaving Egypt Ministries, Obadiah D. Morris

O Lord God, may You hear us in these times of tyranny and lies and great deceptions among men; open up Your ear to us, for we have been made ready to speak to You of the evils that You have shone us, yet that most have for so long neglected; You have prepared us for this day!, and Lord we thank You for having an ear for us men who know of their oppression, as You did know of us, although most men have not given an ear for Your word, or inclined their eyes up to Your glory in heaven; all praise to God, the Most High, though men have disobeyed His instruction and wisdom and counsel; all praise to the God of our salvation, whose commands and wise instruction would free us from our captivity; hear thy people who keep Your precious law and who preach it aloud to the men of confusion and great distortions of truth; though their minds are confused, not so with ours, Lord, and we speak to You in prayer, as thou has spoken to us by word;

Our enemy is greater, mightier, and loftier than ever before, lurking in private and behind closed doors and from the highest offices in the world that he may make us subject to his will, and that he may hide his ways among men; he is there too even in the fields, where he administers the system of man upon those who may have neared closer to escaping his grips; in the countryside, even, I have found these men who have stood up against You, Lord, and they do the bidding of their masters higher up the chain, having turned their back on their own people to satisfy men whom they have never met, and who live in far away places; the enemy surrounds us on every corner and in every office of every high place, he is in the small towns that have dried up and in the greatest cities, that men had built in vain to function; our enemies have been found as far away as on the hay bail, as he has been expected in the city; our enemies have taken the stage of the world, that no one should escape their lies, or the works of the their hands, or the showing of their power; they threaten not only me, or my brothers, but all of life on earth; yea, they threaten the earth with the extinction of humankind; not just the ground I walk on, but of all the land of the earth, wherein men have allowed the enemies to settle among them; I have instructed my people to see them, and I have been faithful to your calls to prophesy to the lost, and to my frustration they have seen not; even though they are the mightiest of beasts and cannot be mistaken for a small dove, yea, they have not seen them; I have done my duty, my God, and have blown the trumpet of slavery, I have pointed toward Your kingdom, yea, I have blown thy whistle of freedom, even I had sounded the alarm as a watchman; but my people could be carried away in boxes, O God, and they would not see that there was an enemy in their midst; they have been restrained and yet have not see their chains; if my brothers cannot see now, O Lord, I fear they never will, for the enemy is no longer in a far away place, but is in the gates; he has come to our door, he is not in a far away place, he has even come inside my house; God, he visited me at my place of work, and he set foot in my room, that I have nowhere else to run; good God, he is large and his supporters are many, but I shall know that he is not bigger than You still, lest I go off to believe as those who hate me, lest I suddenly find him mightier than You; he may strike fear in me, God, that I will be caged for not inclining my ear to him, that I may threaten his order of slavery through coercion and lies, but I will fear only You, the Lord, for I know that wisdom is only in the fear of the Lord, for the fear of men is only lies and folly; I will fear him not, for I only have only a fear of the Lord and his harsh judgment to come for the City of Man; I am frightened only at the thought of not being spared by the Lord my God; many of hours do I sit and wonder that mine enemy might come down upon me, as he does again and again, as he does to my neighbors and brothers all the day long, and even so I shall remain of child of God; but I shall abide in You and trust in Your protection, for the protection of man is worthless, yea, they are all idols.

Oh, Lord, how wonderful could things have been had men gone with thy ways, if they had searched the scriptures as much as they have man’s laws; how men could have lived in peace and harmony rather than the subjection of lies and the sword; how great a society would work that followed Your beautiful and perfect law of liberty, how men could be delivered from famine, pestilence, and the captivity, by Your commands and them only; You showed us Your law, God, how it was a safe and prosperous place for the children of God to be forever, how it is a vine and fig tree under which a man might eat and find shade and rest; You have reproved the men who have told us that we must have salvation in men, yea, You have torn down their lies; alas, men have hearkened not unto Your sketch, unto Your lovely picture, unto the image of a land without robbers, or if they had seen it they looked upon it wrongly; they have told us there will always be robbers, and that the best robbers are those who have the law of men on their side, that they may escape being seen as robbers whatever; for all my life, God, I have shown them Your society, and they have said this land cannot work, that man must be exalted to Your status; men have sought to be as gods, abolishing Your great works and establishing theirs in its place; O God, their ways have been a ruin to thy will; for they did not make society work so much as they have destroyed it, and in their destruction have told us there is no going back, that Your law, God, doesn’t work, even as they usurp it they have said it doesn’t work, yea, they said that we cannot do without Egyptians.

I come here weak before You, God, from the abuse and robbery I have endured under this rule of man; I plea that You see us and the calls of restoration rising among the remnant; for we have been under the threat of men; to make matters worse, all of the rulers’ men defend his ways with a gnashing tongue and lying lips, so that I have no one else to turn to; even those who stand not gain have sung the praises of thy enemy; O God, I know all too well of my weakness without You, for it has been manifest in my heart; never do I think that this is a victory for the act of one man, and I know all too well how small I am aside both You and these men, that I seek refuge in Your care; whereas if I have sinned before and made compromise to my enemies, that there may be some realm within which they should rule me, if not others, I see now that I have no allies among men, not even my closest brothers, but that so many around us, especially those who have taken up the sword against me, are mine enemies and threaten me forever with their jails and prisons; Lord, they have whored me out on their farm, that I know well of my weakness; save me, Lord, for I have admitted my weakness before You and called upon Your strengths, which I know You have against mine enemies, and I have humbled myself that I be one day exalted, while my enemies be abased; God I repent before You my sins, I confess all my insufficiency before You, my desperate need for Your wing, when I had once before braved this enemy without You; You shall have to know now of my guilt and sorrows, God, for having flown but not under Your wing, for having walked in the darkness yet not with Your light, for it was here, alone in the wilderness, that men wanted to take me captive for my want of sustenance, and for my having neglected my foremost ally, the Most High God; they had tried to use my hunger to break me, and my need of shelter to watch me, yea, they have preyed upon me as I traveled in search of work and food.

I ask, God, how much longer shall it be that we live under men?; my tolerance has run low for their evils and the belief in their evils by the masses of men; my soul is afflicted at the greatness of their wickedness and their escape from judgment or punishment for their ways, so bad I have called on my God to render recompense to my enemies; my God, can thou not see how bad things have become under men, that thy ways have been more perverted than Babylon? Can thou not see the whore is worse than before? Can thou not see thy people have prostituted themselves out to the kingdoms of men? Restore our society as thou hast intended it, as a free one under Your rulership and law; return it to the gentle hand of the remnant of Your kingdom, where we shall uphold it as a glory forevermore, where we shall preserve it as the shepherds of the earth, of Your earth, where this time we shall take dominion and set up a covenant of peace; God, make a noise in this world, make a clap of thunder, make a great showing, that the kingdoms of the world will look like the ashes of Sodom and Gomorrah for their crimes; show the heathen their mistake for mocking You, O God, when in their sin they believed they could build against You, when in their folly they believed men could build up to the heavens and offer each other salvation by the sword; put an end to the political slavery with which not all of us have yearned to live under, but which some of us have been made subject by the foolishness of our brethren; look favorably upon our captivity and let us escape the sword; do not give the worshipers of this system their way, for they have had it for far too long, but make their ways the most regrettable by the great hand of the almighty God; show them the God of their creation, make them to have made the most unfortunate mistake in their rebellion, and smash them if thou must, God, as they have done to us and to the things which we have sought to make beautiful; take vengeance upon enemies for us, that they be blotted off the face of the earth, wherein they had spent their time rising up against You.

My God, forget not us captives, they have come down on us hard, as of the hardest of hailstorms, they have broken the bones of the people who may stand against them; O dear God here they come, louder than all the lions of the world at once in a roar, here they come for the lock on all men, that men never again may walk free; they have gained this whole round world to which now there is no escape, that everywhere I could walk, they may be found, yea, they have tried to put the fear in me that everything I do, they see; every way I have turned, Lord, I have found the sons the men, ready to do their work for the cheapest price, yea, they have given themselves up as the cheapest of whores, and even they have worked without reward; even thy churches have caved to their pressures, and their congregations disbanded under the first signs of worry; like as You, these men have promised pestilence if we fear not their commands, which we know are made against You, and which we know are made to take away the fear of God; O God, man has tried to set himself up as You, that he may stand as high as the heavens in which to minister his decrees, and it has been a disaster to our order, and thy law; they have made their transgressions in the name of thy law, even in the name of God, yea, they have even blasphemed Your name in which they say they trust; they have been more evil than we had been ready to imagine; O Lord, I had known they were bad, but how You showed me they’re worse, only so did my fear of the lord increase; Lord, I have said I have no refuge but in You, for men have made men their gods, and this has made things for us most dangerous; I tremble in my dwellingplace, where I would have been secure with You, for the thought of man coming to take my life at any time, though it is here I make a stand with You, that i should never go down alone; I still glory in You, Lord, that man’s systems will flee from me and untangle me from their nets and loosen from me their bondage chains, and I pray forevermore for Your divine protection, that it be over me in this time where men have made the world as their playground, and the people as their playtoys, yea, I have believed in Your providential deliverance, in divine liberation from my enemies; for, You know Lord, their net has been cast wide and serves as a snare to catch all men who have a want to escape it, yea, there is no better catch for them than the men who do not wish to be their slaves; they have had the ages now to assure that no fish should swim past their traps, and Lord have they cast them far and wide; good God, their net is wide, it covers the ends of the earth; they have set up prisons for the captives and camps for their prisoners, and they number in the millions; billions of men are under them as never before, and they have made them painfully aware, though they continue to not face thy truths of God’s law, or thy glory of thy God in heaven; yea, the enemy has reared his head, and still do men live in darkness; their false teachers have told them it isn’t so, and men’s ears are full of wax, as the beehive, so that all thoughts and leaning on Your law have missed the mark; believe me, Lord, it is so, for I have seen it with my own eyes, and I have spoken to the men who in their afflictions have tried to speak, but when they spoke had nothing to say; these men have kept slaves by the millions, and most of them have contended themselves in the security of the arms of men, which will be used to squeeze them to a slow death; yea, they have said, my how warm it is in the hands of men, before they had realized they were in the fire; O Lord, our world is far from in Your arms, where in which we would find a warmth so true; how the boot of man has stepped on the face of this earth, on all surfaces, and it shows no signs of retreat, that it may make its stamp on mankind and make a mark in history;

They do with us as they please, O Lord; yea, they have their way with us, and, what is more, men have believe in their ways and tell us to follow suit; they do with us as they please because our brothers have had no condemnation of their ways, which find approval in the hearts of men; we can find no consolation in men, who are gone off; yea, God, they are off in the stormy deep, so far off that they believe they shall not reap; and God, they have sown nothing but violence, and no one but You has seen our cause and taken it up, yea, no one but You Lord has seen how easy it was that the enemies of the men of God had won the minds of men, with which they had needed to extort them forever; their plans went on without a hitch, God, almost as without an effort, without a strength, that the enemy had nary broken a sweat by the hour he had broken his cattle; for our people have loved their chains and hated the Lord, and they have given their enemies room to roam; we are like fish out of the pond against these men, we are like slow birds of the open air, we are like turkeys on a hill, we are like lambs in a field of coyotes, hens with a fox on guard, O God we are men without a home, naked and alone; they hunt us day and night, they haunt us in the absence of Your judgment upon them, yea, they have even come to us as a judgment for our own sins; we have been made theirs for a game, and we wish not to be anymore; but here we are, God, standing before You, oppressed and under their yoke, where in the land You gave for our inheritance we are but captives to men; as You told us would happen, Lord, they have laid hands on us, to no avail have they been lifted; I cry, Lord, their hand has become heavier, and no one has complained of it, even as it has pressed down to mine bones; we have been made the subjects of men who stop at nothing but blood, who are satisfied only with flesh; but though our flesh may be theirs, O Lord, our soul has rested in heaven with You, and it is in the soul that we submit to You as the only Lord and King, for while we may be their slaves for now, You are our eternal king, and our hope is in Your lovingkindness, in Your mercy, and Your salvation; yea, we fear not what they may do to the body, for our eyes are on You; we take solace in eternal life in the glory of God, for there is nothing on earth as of now but men and oppression; yea, men have made the world into a prison by their own doing, they have turned thine earth into their trampling ground, that they may tread on men in their will, and that no longer may a man stand up to take dominion of his divine heritage, nor even may he walk safely down the road; we have become their game, that we may be hunted at their will, and that we may be taken as a plaything; we have become their cattle, that they have branded and corralled, that we may sow the land while they reap the product.

God have mercy on us when Your anger should soon pour out and You may no longer contain thy fury at the sight of what men have done, for it is wicked and bad and has turned my stomach, even my eyes have been hard to raise, even my voice has been weak to object, and mine soul aches for the soreness You must feel to see thy creation made waste and plunder; I have lost sleep and have skipped meals over my agony at what they have done to Your world, and I pray always that You set Your people apart from it when thou hast come to drum a beat, and form a sound, and make a showing; God, remember when that You have sent a remnant and that not all of us have called evil good, lest You be without mercy, without justice, which we know You are not; very few it is indeed who should escape thy punishment, God, who did not build up the society of man and his orders, but who can be found to know the truth in Your word; O God, there is a least one left over, for he is me; but there are at least three men, because I know of two others who have not fallen for the lies of man and his offers in exchange for our souls; spare no less than three, God, when thou cannot take it anymore but to close up thy creation gone awry, to tear down the proud and lofty and haughty, and to put an end to the evil deeds that men have carried out against You, and have even done in Your name; God I know that the sins of men, their many idolatries and their great fascinations with power, fortune, and fame have led to these systems that have come out against me, almost as if they were made for me, for they find me in my sleep, and they have follow me in my travels; but for my part, I have not participated in them, and nor do they receive my praise; O God, if it angers You that so many of fools have bought the lies of the evil men, forget not that I am not among them, and quell Your anger at thy remnant; go easy on us Lord, when your wrath comes against the evil men of this world; whenever I was, in my Youth, so foolish as to trifle with the lies of men, forgive me God for I was Young, and I knew not yet Your ways, and knew not yet Your laws, and knew not yet the depths of the evils of men, though I had been warned; I was always Yours, God, that only foolish men had attempted to make me stray from the law You have pressed upon my heart and made into something like tablets of stone, yea, God, it was only for the words of men that I had not known Your word; O God, I have said that I have repented for my sins, and that I want no part in the ways of men and what You have in store for them, for I know it will be great as the stars having fallen from the sky, or greater than even the destructions that have been wrought by the works of man’s hands; Lord, that You will strike carefully and with some care when the rod has been stricken against the men of the evil one, for there are some among them who serve You, yea there are still some; whole towns have been given up to evils, where Your fist may be indiscriminate, but not all, God, not all have begged for thy fury; I trust, thou Lord, that thy will know the evils ones and will have set us apart in thine anger, for we men of God share in Your indignation, and we know that You are terrible to Your enemies; O God, have mercy upon those who were made the victims of the evil men, for we asked not to be a part, though they tried to make us so through their violent ways, and they told us sweet lies that we would know not their violent ways or see them, though thou has given us eyes to see.

Remember us, God, for we are to my surprise still here, and it is a wonder we have been yet allowed to live while such tyranny reigns on earth; it is by Your grace only that they have yet not hung us up to die; when You shall come to turn the tables on the wicked men, and shall unleash thy fury the likes of which the world has never seen, forgot not thy few children who have been caught in the schemes of fools and evil men; know that we are still down here, O God, faithfully serving You, and that our delight in in You and not the kingdoms of this world, for we have abhorred the ways of the world and have cried against them; yea, God, know that we have stored up our possessions in heaven, that we seek Your kingdom, and that You have been our safe place in times of terror put on by these men; know that we are not the men who have placed their bets on man, or made our dealings with these them, and who have found enjoyment and quiet in the world of Egypts and Romes; we are still here, God, and we won’t go away, unless by the sword, where which they might use upon us before thee can put a stop to their evil ways; but we are here, God, and we look up to the Kingdom of Heaven for a better place than what men have made here for now, which is a wretched and filthy place filled with the idols of men, and the debaucheries that come from a society of whores, whose idols hang on their houses as adornment; look for us among their statues, their statutes, their legislatures, their courthouses, their police departments, their prisons, their buildings that have delighted them to build, and among their lies, if we can be found there; O God, we are somewhere down there in them, in the world but not of it, and we try in vain to avoid their entanglements; O God, are we terribly in their chains; look for us first, God, as hard as it may be to see us among their filthy idols; turn them into a heap of ashes, God, but remove us to safety first; spare not a single one of them, God, for I have told them of their ways and they cared not, yea, I had made their ways plain as thy day, and they had made them black as night, I have shown them what thou has shown me, and they have counted it for a joke; look upon them in derision, Lord, for they have mocked the messengers of God, saying that judgment is due for all those people who raise up systems of rule, that cursed by all men who trust in men.

God, might it provoke You to obliterate them if You had heard from me or mine few brothers what they have done, if You could hear a weeping testimony from Your faithful servant; God, only You know the degree of their wicked ways, for I see only what’s on the surface, though mine neighbors cannot even see that, though You see the magnitudes, for You are God; I know it is sicker than You have graciously allowed for us to ponder, for I am not as wicked as them, but You and only You know how vexed You must be at the sight of blackness in their souls who carry out such evil against those made in Your image, as You are the God who in thine indignation had flooded the creation for their failings, and has brought so many empires before us to an end, and has plowed them like a field for their wicked ways, and turned them upside down like a man washing a dish; God, they are deserving of every destruction I know, and I wake every day in great hope that You will bring it upon them should it be Your will; I delight not in what they have wrought on Your earth by their hands, but at the wondrous delights of You breaking their arms that they may never plunder again, that they may not have mankind anymore as their property, and that we may live free at last, Amen.

They have worshiped at the altars that their masters have set up to earn great praise and justification for their lying words, they have carved out their heroes in the rock of thy creation, yea, they have desecrated thy mountains, and have stamped their men on the coins they have forced upon us, they make rituals to our destruction, and they have done witchcrafts that the spirit of evil may be with them as they come down upon us; when thou comest, O Lord, make these men waste, take them into depths of the earth, with the heat of the core, and make them never to return again; their idolatries have brought evil upon this earth; yea, we know thy law O Lord, that thou has no tolerance for evil; they have built prisons for the men who wish not to serve their false gods, and they have made a mockery of You, my Lord, for You art thou only King, and from Your throne in heaven, I cannot wait until You cast theirs down; exalt thyself, O Lord, put these men in their place, and show them that they are but men and not gods, for they have so long believed that their false gods will save them, when all they have done is brought great oppressions into the world, even into the lives of the men who still hold them high; they have exalted themselves as the rulers of this earth, and it has made nothing for us but danger; we have exhorted our brothers to not look up at their works, but nay, their eyes had gazed as on the moon, as on the earth, as on the wonders of the creation of the Lord God, and they were sold, yea, it was there they were sold; for a piece of bread, Lord, were our brothers sold, for a sip of water did they give themselves up as slaves.

We spend our waking hours dreaming of Your intervention, God, in Your intercedence between us and the laws of men, that those men shall know thou art thy true God, and that they had dealt falsely; we remember You, O Lord, the God of Gods, the King of kings, who brought his men out of Egypt when they were not ready, who had taken them across rivers when they were yet unafraid of their enemies, who drowns our enemies in seas, who shines the light in His people’s eyes that they no longer glimmer at the sight of Pharaohs, but see him for all the lies that he is; we have studied Your law, God, and have kept it, and we are ready to live under it and to obey thou commands, for You were right that with them a man cannot live, and that man without them is like as an heap, as a piece of rubble, as a lost sheep; if thou were to come in the night, and we were awakened at a moments’ notice, O God, we have mediated on thy law long enough to know it was our God who had made a showing, and we would be ready to end to our slumber at once and rise to thy occasion, the great glory of thy wrath; O God, how sweet it would be to be by Your side when the day has come for the enemy to be blotted out from this earth forever; O, my God, how I have studied Your ways and known thy word that we may never fall back into captivity for the worship of men, that we may not remain in captivity forever for our iniquities, for if though would empower me to tell thy people, I would tell them of their errors and explain to the fools of old that their idolatry has been the reason for their fall, that their love of theft and murder has been the cause of their decline; we shall be a ray of shine to the dark places of the earth, and to the dark men of the earth, if thou would inaugurate thy restoration, God; we shall preach the gospel of thy Kingdom should You lift our burdens; we have made plans of readiness to serve in thy kingdom that never again shall it fall to the tricks of men, and that it should stand stronger than any of the works of man’s hands; trust in us, Lord, to keep Your charge, to not let our brothers go back into bondage for their lack of knowledge; we have been trained, and brought up, by careful study of Your word, that we have readied a place in our hearts for thy kingdom, thy long awaited kingdom which is the glory of the world; we humbly accept our role, that You may be with us out of these dark times, and that we may be the keepers of thy law and ways; make use of us, O Lord, that we may lead others in the way that is right.

Good God in heaven, our Father, our King, the time is ripe for thou presence on earth and beyond thy heavens, for it is time that thy good tree bear fruit, as all we have known was the evil vine, which has withered and died, and has come back many times only to do the same; they invade our dwellings thousands of times in a season, they shake us down on the roadside all of the day long, Lord, they have millions of men in their prisons; they tell us we owe them unpayable sums of money and they place barriers in our way of earning it and paying it; they close our shops, take our work from us, drive us out of business, and handicap our ability to feed ourselves, and insist still on payments to their kings, that we cannot make under such heavy burdens; they have set up a system that is impossible to know and comply with, for they are cunning and conniving, God, yea they have complicated matters beyond our recognition and abilities; they have extended their plunder scheme unto a profound new level, not neglecting a local spoil, but to make open their evils for all the world to see; without doubt they work with the wicked one, O Lord, for it is manifest that the spirit of evil is upon them and that their delusion could have only been the result of the work of Satan; never before have I seen a lie so great and large, never before has the world been so connected to a lie, that I know in mine soul it has not been the work of men alone, or the work or will of You, God; and in my expectations there are only more of them to come, as it would be too good that those who prey upon men had stopped here, when knowingly there was more blood to be had; O God, I cannot see how the times would fail to enrage You into action, for I try hard to remain in my seat, that I don’t rise up myself to do a thing about them who plunder us; by Your patience, God, You have granted me the security of awaiting Your judgment, which even I must tame my excitement for, knowing that it will be great, and knowing that but for the grace of God I have not joined in with them; the heathen have accused us of conspiracy for preaching Your word and lamenting the slavery that has come upon us for their ways, one which they have said they see not; they have mocked, scorned, and rebuked us for telling of Your law, God, all while it is the only law that explains all that has gone wrong; yea, they have even said that there is no God in their foolishness, even as their gods fail them; they have done the most evils things against You, and against us, and most have called it law, justice, and order; now is as good of a time as ever to show them justice, God, for them to see that what they have done under thy name was evil, and that their evils have come to a head;

O, my God, the hour is severe that I need You, as I know but a few men who do, though I know that your scattered remnant is plenty; the enemy has pressed upon me, and plunders me repeatedly, as if I had no air in my lungs, and as if my breath have no life left to give; he has taken me for a spoil, month in and month out, and seen me for nothing more than meat to feed on, and my flesh he has taken for his family; at every turn it seems he waits there for me, that I must give him more under the pain of his punishment, though I have given him a good portion of my meat already; I have nothing left to give these wolves, God, so little I have to give them that we have found great need of You now, before it is that they tell us to give them more; for they are never satisfied, they are ravenous beasts, they hunger for more, and they won’t stop until chewing us down to bone, yea, they would even make broth of us if we weren’t more productive to keep in the flesh; it is bad, Lord, as You could have told us, we are under their thumb, and they pound at us daily, even at this hour, and even as the minutes pass; the heathen have doubled-down on their ways and become more evil than the righteous had imagined, and they care not to be rebuked for their evil, where they wear it proudly, and they walk in their vanities, where the name of evil bothers them them not; whereas years ago we knew they destroyed, now we know they do it with evil on their side, and that it is worse than bad; thou we knew they were bad, O Lord, they have become worse than thou would allow our imaginations; yea, they feast on children and commit unspeakable acts, they are detestable and vile men, defiling Your creation; our gutters are filled with blood, our waves are waves of lies, in our rooms we swim in tears, the enemy has censored my voice so that I may not get through to those who follow deceitfully in his ways; he has read my words, and visited me in my sleep, that I may not reach the sheep; yea, he has shut me down, that I may not warn the flock of the day of slaughter.

I am at my end, God, there is no more convincing the enemy of his wrong, and I have no one else to tell, though I am contented to do so anyway by that which I have been called to sound the alarm to the heathen, to ring a bell of liberty, that if they would listen they might see their evils ways and know how it has become this way, that if they might hear a whisper of truth that they would find abundance of it in Your word; I have been a watchman unto them, even a prophet, though they have not listened and only allowed for the world to get worse, even though I am a lowly man; but I know thy law, O God, and I know what I have read in Your word, and the world has become dim without You, and that it shall soon become blank if our spoilers shall succeed; as they have done to us, so You should do to them; spoil the wicked, O Lord, plunder them as they have us, and show them no mercy, as they lacked for us when they caught us in their nets; here comes another plan of the enemy, O dear God, one that might yet ensnare many more than the last time, into a trap of death yet so deep they will all take the step; Come, O Lord, that the enemy no more be capable of launching his schemes upon us, that his conspiracies come to rest, and that thy people shall know that thou art the Lord, and that they be rebuked in the sight of You for their actions of complicity; lies rule the world, God, and though thou timing is perfect, we can’t but resist to await it and seek it, and to call You early to arise; if we are in sin here, God forgive us, for it is bad out there, and our sadness is lifted only by the thought of the heavy hand of God coming down upon them, for we need some thought by which we can escape his nightmare, and it is the scene of the prophets that thou hast provided for us, where which our enemy has gone down, and up in the flames, and into the rubble where he shall be buried forever.

When, God, Your ways were manifest among men, the schemes of the enemy had not reached the fields of the plains or the depths of the seas, no, they were yet seedlings around their temples, and had spread not yet to our yards; the Society of Man was but in its infancy, and its evils were childish, which were evils to be sure, on the multitudes, but evils so limited in reach; but now they are without limit as the eagles are without, and the enemy has conspired to do away with You in all Your might, to cause all men to forsake their God and replace him by false gods, and he has encompassed me on all sides, that there is no frontier left; I pray each day that You will reprove these men in one swift blow to his schemes; for Your way works, God, Your way is the only way that works, and I have seen no other; yea, I have looked to the kingdoms of men and seen no hope; the order You have spelled out for us is one of cooperation and harmony among men, and I have reasoned through it and know it works, for thou has shown me, and I have seen no other; my, the glory of its perfection, praise the Lord God, for I have seen no other like it, and I have seen many, for man has shewed me many of his schemes, and many has he subjected me to; the system of man is far from Your ways, God, it is chaos and domination; You have shown me Your law at a Young age, by Your grace, of which I am always grateful, and which I care to keep; love thy neighbor, which is the whole of the law that allows for liberty, which thy son has preached, and which men have sorely forgotten as they have come as invaders with the uniforms and boots that Pharaoh has dressed them in, that they may do his dirty work instead of the word of God; I have seen Your natural order, God, I dream of it daily, as if I had a picture, as if it were a painting, as if I had lived in it before; and I have meditated on it in my Younger years, and how it is the only way in which men can live, and I have seen no other; but, God, I have seen men come against it, men who have come down on it, and men that, if they had known better, would have never taken part; but, O Lord, it pains me to say there are men who know what they do and they have come out against You, and that I am not sure they know not, as thou hast said, for I have seen them defy You in the open; yea, I have seen them boast that God is not watching, and taunt me that You are not with us; have mercy on some fools, Lord, for even as You have said, they have not known any better; but spare no evil man, Lord, lest thou be one without justice for those who have persecuted us, and lest thy men who have warred against You be left to stand; show Your law and the beauty of Your order to those who cannot see it, O Lord, show them the way of the light and truth; but if they be so rebellious that You shall decide they are unworthy, then close their eyes permanently for them, turn thy back on them, give them over to reprobate thinking, and remove them from before us that we may live without being ruled by men; God, Your ways work, but for now we live under men, and it is not working;

Those who mock Your law, God, have said to me that thou hast not been present in our world, lest the iniquities have stopped by now, and lest we already be saved from our enemies; they saw not how Your law works, but put question to Your existence, having no faith in anything but men, who they can see, and whose works appear as magic and salvation to them; but, I told them in correction that God has made the world to work when men are free, and that men have chosen to disobey; yea, I have told them the reasons for our captivity, but they refused to see it, and even others have even blamed You; O God, some of us have been sorely aware that Your order has been replaced by men, and not by our God, who still allows us journey to the promised land if we should so take it; but men have chosen to adventure with men, where they were once entertained with fine tricks and were later under the sword, yea, they have chosen the glory of chariots and horses, where atop them they feel as gods; God, we know who came for Your ordered liberty and Your people and their society, and it was not You, for You were the Author, the God of hope, that men may once be called back to their connection with their Creator; God, we know that Your society was destroyed by men with evil in their hearts who have come out against You; though the heathen say, God is not with us, lest he remove the evils from the world, we know Lord that these evils have come from the disobedient men who in their sins have strayed from the word of God for the word of men, that they may lead the charge on their own; it was those men who fancy themselves as the rulers of men who attempted to abolish Your law, and who had found some headway in doing so; but we know it can never be abolished, and that our God is a God of correction, that He may show the heathen their errors when things have become so bad that they may no longer go on that way, and that he may show mercy on those who knew not what they do; oh how the heathen may be chastened the hard way, with the mighty rebuke of our God in heaven, with the famine for their families as a sign and wonder of God; Oh, God, truly how much worse must it be before thou will correct my enemies, and show them that my trumpet was not my own, but Yours? For they have said that I have said to them strong delusions, that I had presented unto them lies and imaginations of my own; I have said that their violent order was ungodly, but they told me there is no God, for they did not see Him, while men presented them with things to see and things to revel in, which they did buy; and in this, they told me all I needed to know about the evil of their ways, for I knew they were set out against You and thus had sought vain things; God, know it that they hate You, and shew them all the great things they are owed for this, for they have hated me too, and it has made my life but a worry; yea, they have caused great distress among your people, out of fear of their cages for not doing as they say.

For, God, I was laughed out of town when I spoke of You and Your way, they had poked and prodded me to move on beyond them, that they never had to hear the unpleasant truths that stood in the way of their entertainments, which may cause them to cease; even those who know of evil in the world would not hear my cry that Satan, Your adversary, was at work on these men who had not done their evils in error alone; nay, they told me, that it was only good leaders in error that have lead to this, that things didn’t have to be this way so long as there were new men to run the show; when I spoke of their errors, they laughed me into a corner, where which I could not breath, and where they taunted me as the laughingstock of their party; the room was held up against me, as the waters up against the armies of Pharaoh, and that they didn’t slay me but only laughed was by Your grace alone, for Lord knows they wish to persecute me, but to make a joke of me first they did do; God I was mocked out of the place where I had swung my hammer to earn a pay, where I had planted a seed which I had hoped to see bloom for my harvest, where even I had worked to feed the men who live off the product of others, though I had at least some scraps for myself; only if I were ashamed of my God would I hide my face, but I profess God, and I am no longer welcomed among the heathen, and i no longer have a home; yea, even in the smallest of towns I have been a stranger and counted as a disrupter, and in the big cities they had sought to hang me for my words, that they may go on in error without any cords to bind them and bring them back down to laws of the earth; demonic spirits have attacked me when my light had shone on them, they had seen my light and sought to conspire against me without reason, they have threatened me with arrest if I should continue to serve thou humbly and peacefully, yea, they have told me that I am not welcome to share my words in their towns; all my friends have gone the way of the sword, they have taken it up themselves in their pride, or exalted it from below in their foolishness and in their vanity; O God, I cry to You, even my family and loved ones have refused ear to my words, or for that matter, Yours, saying instead that the words of men are eminent and that the word of God is a myth; yea, they wrote You off as a storybook even as they bought into fables, they had counted Your words as myths even as they bought into lies; even the churches had sent me on my way for speaking of their sweet words, meant to soothe their congregations, and to keep them from having eyes and ears for the world in the times of trouble; they had said my God is not one of wrath upon the heathen who worship false idols that rule over men, but that He comes in peace only, and they had said He is not terrible to those who wish not to obey, or to humble themselves; O God, can You show them how they are wrong, can You bring Your fury upon the evil men of this world, that no one can any longer doubt Your hatred for iniquity? Can you reprove them for Your sake, and that they may see I had not lied when I came in Your name?; yea, they even drove me out of their congregations, where I have not even fellowship among the brethren, and I am left to die with men against me, roundabout on every side; they have not wanted to hear Your word, but have traded them for the precepts of men.

I can only hope to escape in my Lord for the sins of man, where with He had withstood them on the tree for all to see; it is the sins of men, I know, who led us here, and the law of my God only that shall set us free; sin is the foundation of all the evils in the world, not just in men themselves, but on the men who have depended on it for their power; for the rulers are nothing without slaves who sell their souls to the songs of men, who sing the praises of an ungodly system, who write the sweet words in defense of their lofty plans against us, and who swing the razor’s edge against any who may see through their lies; the men have had idolatry in their hearts, a lust for theft and murder, a covetous urge to bite their neighbors, and such is what gave way to the City of Men; it was not lies alone, Lord, but lust for power; sinful hearts have led the people into captivity, I know, for thou hast said it, and I believe thy word; I pray every day that my sins may be washed, and that I have no guilt in the systems of man, that I therefore am free from thy strong hand when it comes swinging down upon the evils of this world, as You said it would, and as the mountains and high places are turned to dust, and as the valleys and lowlands have been set afire, as You said it would; O God, if Your law had come back in the minds of men, what a glorious day that would be, for we should return from Egypt by dry land under the sea, that we may never be taken for a spoil again, and that we may be the examples of the fruit that comes with obedience to thee, that no one ever again may say, ‘there is no God’; the flowers and crops should rise again for our nourishment, and no longer shall the desire for violence cause them to wither, or for the man who has sown them to not also be the man who has reaped them; yea, God, would famine and war no longer be a thing for us, that we have chosen Your law and done away with the laws of men; I will call Your men to obedience, God, because I have seen in Your word that obedience to Your law is the path to liberty, that we not die by the sword, and my convictions have been given by You; O God, I know what I read in Your law, and obedience to Your word is the way to avoid men; it is true, because thou hast spoken it, and You do not lie; faith in the world cannot bear fruit, I know, because You have said it; to trust in men is to give oneself up to plunder, to seek protection in Pharaohs arms is the peak of foolishness, for a horse is a vain hope, and to trust in chariots shall be the decline of a people.

Be with us, God, in these trying times; leave us not alone that men should continue to prey upon us, for they have emptied my pockets and now they have come for payment in blood, and I have nothing left to give them, so they want my time behind their bars and among their captors, where I am unsafe; nothing has satisfied this beast, O Lord, who feeds and feeds all day on the people but is always hungry; as thou hast said, he cannot even sleep unless he takes a man for a plunder; O God, I have fed him against my will, and it still wasn’t enough, he was always hungry; yea, he had even suggested I sell my property that I may feed his belly; Restore!, Lord, show thyself as the God of restoration, as the God of the whole earth, as the Creator of all things, that the heathen’s society may collapse as a castle built of sand; put thy creation back on the firm foundation of the word of God, return us to the solid Rock, build as a city whose maker is the Lord, that it may never wither, and withstand any storm, even the fiercest attempts by anyone to reclaim their high posts; make for us a cornerstone of iron, that never again can men chip away at it and replace it with soft stone, that they may change its foundations and pollute its walls; make thy people such a wonder, so strong in Your word, that the heathen are without anyone to lie to anymore, wherewith there can be no kings of men; bring us back under Your law, God, save us from men and their inventions, for we know their inventions are many, and many evils spew from their many inventions, and we know they are many, for many of times they have put me under them; O God, they have made up an order that has left us feeling far from You, for it is far from You that men have gone;

It is in You I vow all my service, O my Lord, though they have demanded it of me to them; I speak on behalf of Your remnant when I promise before You that if You restore us, we shall do everything in our power to prevent our people from returning to captivity, that we shall be faithful servants, that we shall never look to men again; for I know, Lord, our captivity has been the result of forgetting You, and never again will we allow men to forget of You, for to forget our God is to be carried into captivity by men; we shall teach our generations the evils of Babylon and raise them on the fear of the Lord; no longer will we let men bend their ears and knees to false gods, to human rulers, for it is You I say, God, who is the only God, and who has carried his people from the hands of the Egyptians, whose idols were many, and whose evils were endless; I have seen the gods of men, and they do not save; I vow to You, God, that if You should restore us, we will serve as a leader of the charge, that no men within our power will ever go astray from You again; we shall praise the Lord for the rest of our days, for it is in the worship of God that the worship of men is prevented, and in the love of God that we no longer have a love of men, albeit the love for thy brothers who have shown us peace; we will be sure that none of our brothers should ever again worship the men who have nothing in their interests but to control us and shake us down for all we’re worth; my God, You are a loving God, and we will worship You all of our long days, that men may never arise to claim Lordship over us ever again, we vow to You; with God on our minds, no men may replace Him; O God, how thou could make our days long if we had obeyed; God, restore us, that I no longer have to be a part of the flesh of men, which as I have known seeks the flesh of others for feed; change us, O Lord, that we may be changed and kept from the fallacies that lead to our bondage; free us, Lord, that we no longer be the subjects of men.

Judge them, God, for they hated You, and they even told me so too, lest I think they were but fools without evil on their side; strike them with thy merciless might, as they have done with us; give us a showing, God, a great show that is of Your power, and make it as the best on earth, that those who have been made down shall be risen up with laughter when thou smite thy enemy; repay them for the sins of keeping Your people captives, and for turning us upside down for pocket change when they had traveled to a place where they could earn their keep as free men, and for keeping us as slaves; as for those who took it upon themselves to believe that they were themselves the authors and enforcers of the law, and that they were in right to exact violence against men, show them who thy real God is and break them into submission, leave them as a torture that they may die in agony over all their lies; Lord, break our enemies into a million pieces, as they have plucked me out of the earth and tempted my spirit, and make it that they may never be put back together again; punish them properly for their most grievous sins against humanity, for they have conspired against whole nations under the pretense of protecting them; smash the rulers, God, as Your prophets have told us You would do, for they are deserving, and I know it, for without shame they have sent my brothers into the cage, and without remorse they have taken lives for the rest of their days, and without repentance they have continued the beatings, and without guilt they have laughed at their acts, and they have been able to sit happily while knowing they have earned their keep by the sweat and blood of others; I want to see it, God, as Isaiah had told it, and as Jeremiah had said it too, that the world will be placed back under the mighty hand of God, Amen; Lord God, they have sat cozily in their houses by the warmth of fire and friends as they have done iniquity against the rest of men, whom they have regarded as their slaves; set fire to their houses where they have found refuge in the City of Man; let them feel safe no more to plunder us, taking the very places which they have built from our product from under them, and putting a fear within them that they have given to us, that they may no longer sleep at night for their crimes against Your people.

God, Your order is beautiful and wondrous, You have shown us in Your law that man and society is not doomed forever but may recover should it come back to You; how glorious it truly is that we are not condemned between the false choices of human power or chaos as men have presented to us, but that thy law and order may arise without the lordship of men; they had called it chaos, God, but I have called it Your Kingdom; they have called it poverty, but I have called it His glory; they have called it hellish, but I have spoken of heaven, they have spoke dirty of the evils they supposed would abound in Your order, but I have shown that it is not true, and I have rebuked them, O God, that they may see that what they think is true of You is true only of them, that it is they who bring evil, disorder, and injustice in the world, not Your perfect law of liberty; I have seen Your work, God, and I will know its perfection all my days; not one man could ever tell me otherwise that the systems of men are the path to peace, for I have known it in my heart and in Your word to be the sure path of destruction, and I have seen it for myself, and I have warned others; they have spoken wrongly of the poverty and misery that would come from Your law, but I have shown that Your word had prophesied that it is their edicts that shall leave this society desolate; yea, God, I have shown them that Your order is perfect, and that their order is evil, for it is based on man and his orders, which we know are folly; I have spent my life refuting the lies of men that rise up against You, and the ways of thinking of men who have come under their spell; man’s order does not work for long, but the Kingdom of God is forevermore; it is sustained by obedience whereas the City of Man is sustained, only for some time, by the sword; and, Lord, I have told them, that no society that stands by the sword will stand long; I have told them, as did Your prophets, that any men who shall accept men as their gods will uphold the sword by which they shall fall; I have told them, as did Your prophets, that only those societies work that obey God, yea, only a people whose God is the Lord shall prosper!; show us Your everlasting kingdom, God, and take away the lies that have invaded the hearts and minds of men, which has caused them to stumble, and to be blinded to a society that can work without man and his directives; assert Yourself on the throne, O God, that man hath to come down from his, exalt Yourself that he may fall and that his foolishness shall leave him on his face; O God, make it so that all men must come to worship You and repent for their sins.

O God of peace, relieve us from these men of swords, who from their high posts want to slash us down, which they have built in order to pretend they are the gods; knowing that men have a want of worship, they have exalted themselves and gained the favor in their eyes, but they did not know these were not men of peace, though these were the words they spoke; for we know that thy ways are peace, God, thy ways only, and that man’s ways are soothsayings and slavery; restore for us Your peace, and give evil men over to agony and affliction, as they have tried to do to us as they trod us down; for us who want to live in Your peaceful society and long for it, give it to us, Lord, and make us free and safe forever from those who would plunder us under the name of the law, the good name of that system of justice which You have given to Your order that they have known not; for men have perverted justice in order to say that they have risen up under Your authority, that their throne is divine, and that they are Your ministers of peace; but I know from thy word that my God has aimed to tear them down, to place a curse upon those men who would bear an axe against their brother, and to give peace and blessings to all men who are subordinate to their God; give us Your peace, God, for we have longed for it and have appreciated it and have seen it for all that You said it was, yea, we have meditated on it for days without number; but give the rulers and even those who have been fooled by them over to the evils they have wanted, for do not those who desires deserve it?; give not peace to the men who for their whole lives made a profession out of denying peace to others, for they gloried in my pain, and they fed on our blood; but let us share in Your glory, O Lord, allow us to see the work of Your hands. Amen.
