To further prove that adultery, whoredom, and prostitution in the Bible is necessarily all about state-seeking, ie., about men seeking protection and salvation from men who control authoritarian political systems, we can easily show that it is these very systems that come down upon a people who commit this whoredom of statism — that captivity and slavery to men is divine punishment for statist whores and prostitutes. 

If we idolize men and their systems in a love-affair with worldly rulers where we lust after presidents and soldiers to keep us “safe” and “free,” which is always to abandon God, then God will give us over to these very men who do not love us in return, just as the Two Sisters of Ezekiel 23 were given over to their desire to have a relationship with the mighty. The price to pay for abandoning God to make covenants with worldly kingdoms, for adultery and prostitution with the political systems that we are told to turn away from, is to find oneself in bondage to these false lovers. 

“Then the king of Assyria invaded the whole land, marched up to Samaria, and besieged it for three years.In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and carried away the Israelites to Assyria, where he settled them in Halah, in Gozan by the Habor River, and in the cities of the Medes. All this happened because the people of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. They had worshiped other gods and walked in the customs of the nations that the LORD had driven out before the Israelites, as well as in the practices introduced by the kings of Israel. The Israelites secretly did things against the LORD their God that were not right. From the watchtower to the fortified city, they built high places in all their cities. They set up for themselves sacred pillars and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree. They burned incense on all the high places like the nations that the LORD had driven out before them. They did wicked things, provoking the LORD to anger. They served idols, although the LORD had told them, ‘You shall not do this thing.’ Yet through all His prophets and seers, the LORD warned Israel and Judah, saying, ‘Turn from your wicked ways and keep My commandments and statutes, according to the entire Law that I commanded your fathers and delivered to you through My servants the prophets.’ But they would not listen, and they stiffened their necks like their fathers, who did not believe the LORD their God. They rejected His statutes and the covenant He had made with their fathers, as well as the decrees He had given them. They pursued worthless idols and became worthless themselves, going after the surrounding nations that the LORD had commanded them not to imitate” (2 Kings 17:5-14). 

The divine consequences of statist prostitution 

This statist prostitution, where men whore themselves out to human rulers for protection and benefits, is never without its consequences. For statism is adultery. It is cheating on God with men and must, therefore, be punished. As we might expect then, judgment for this statist adultery was always a built-in part of the narrative with the allegory of the two sisters in Ezekiel 23, whose adultery was used to explain a people who lust after mighty men to keep them safe and free. Like the statists of today who trust in police and military for their protection and freedom, the sisters are then given over to the Assyrian lovers as a result of her unfaithfulness, who go on to destroy her.

“Therefore, I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, the Assyrians for whom she lusted. They exposed her nakedness, seized her sons and daughters, and put her to the sword. Thus she became a byword among women, and they executed judgment against her” (Ezekiel 23:9-10). 

When men go a whoring after Egypts, as tens of millions Americans do when they claim they need military, police, and presidents to save them from their enemies, God gives them over to the statist slavery they so beg for. 

“I will bring them against you from every side— the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, the men of Pekod, Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them—all desirable young men, governors and commanders, officers and men of renown, mounted on horses. They will come against you with a host of peoples, with weapons, chariots, and wagons. They will array themselves against you on every side with buckler and shield and helmet. I will delegate judgment to them, and they will punish you according to their own standards. And I will set My jealous rage against you, and they will deal with you in fury. They will cut off your noses and ears, and your survivors will fall by the sword. They will seize your sons and daughters, and your remnant will be consumed by fire. They will strip off your clothes and take your fine jewelry. So I will put an end to your indecency and prostitution, which began in the land of Egypt, and you will not lift your eyes to them or remember Egypt anymore’” (Ezekiel 23:22-27).

God always warns an idolatrous and adulterous people—that is statists—that they will go into bondage for their sin of trusting in men to protect them and be subsequently plundered by their enemies and those who they expected to save them, and yet men never want to listen the prophets’ warnings of the severe consequences for prostituting themselves out to human civil government (despite this being more or less the relentless narrative of all of scripture).  

“For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Surely I will deliver you into the hands of those you hate, from whom you turned away in disgust. They will treat you with hatred, take all for which you have worked, and leave you naked and bare, so that the shame of your prostitution will be exposed. Your indecency and promiscuity have brought these things upon you, because you have prostituted yourself with the nations and defiled yourself with their idols. Because you have followed the path of your sister, I will put her cup into your hand.’  This is what the Lord GOD says:  ‘You will drink your sister’s cup, a cup deep and wide. It will bring scorn and derision, for it holds so much. You will be filled with drunkenness and grief, with a cup of devastation and desolation, the cup of your sister Samaria. You will drink it and drain it; you will dash it to pieces, and tear your breasts. For I  have spoken,’ declares the Lord GOD” (Ezekiel 23:28-34).

When men want to cheat on God with men, which they do by setting up or supporting human governments, God both warns and guarantees that a people will be plundered for the spiritual adultery involved in praising presidents, congressmen, militaries, and police officers — an idolatry that is rampant in the “United States,” despite this people thinking they are the most “free” and free-thinking people on earth. God always attempts to demonstrate the connection between the sin of statist adulterty and bondage, so that perhaps people will see it and repent from their promiscuity with the rulers of the kingdoms of this world. 

“Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have forgotten Me and have cast Me behind your back, you must bear the consequences of your indecency and prostitution’” (Ezekiel 23:35).

To further show that this whoredom is after militarist-statist societies and all the idolatry and sacrifice that are a part of them, this adultery is equated with a people who have blood on their hands (Ezek 23:37). These are people who “commit adultery and bloodshed” (Ezek 23:45), ie., people who lust after murderous political systems that operate on violence, theft, war, and plunder, Statists are people who cheat on God with men — an offense that is punished by turning people over to the very boots that they praised as keeping them safe and free. The price men pay for licking police boots is to receive it on their necks. As punishment for the sin of thinking that “this is a free country and we have the troops to thank,” God allows a people to live in tax bondage and become absolutely plundered and enslaved by the men they trusted in for their salvation. For outsourcing your protection to other men, God makes it where a people live as debt slaves to a statist system that squanders trillions of dollars a year on their evil military enterprise. God does not let people off the hook for cheating on Him with worldly political systems, which every human civil government is, including the supposedly-exceptional “United States” that, in fact, holds one of the most idolatrous populations on earth. Eventually, God has to prove that the adultery of statism—whoring yourselves out to Egyptians and Assyrians or other regimes for “protection” and lusting for presidents to rule over you—only results in bondage and tribute. God must show statist whores the connection between political harlotry and slavery, in hopes that they might learn their lesson and repent for their sins. 

“Is Israel a slave? Was he born into slavery? Why then has he become prey? The young lions have roared at him; they have growled with a loud voice. They have laid waste to his land; his cities lie in ruins, without inhabitants. The men of Memphis and Tahpanhes have shaved the crown of your head. Have you not brought this on yourself by forsaking the LORD your God when He led you in the way? Now what will you gain on your way to Egypt to drink the waters of the Nile? What will you gain on your way to Assyria to drink the waters of the Euphrates? Your own evil will discipline you; your own apostasies will reprimand you. Consider and realize how evil and bitter it is for you to forsake the LORD your God and to have no fear of Me,’ declares the Lord GOD of Hosts. ‘For long ago you broke your yoke and tore off your chains, saying, ‘I will not serve!’ Indeed, on every high hill and under every green tree you lay down as a prostitute” (Jeremiah 2:14-20). 

As with other metaphors and terms, one only needs to become loosely familiar with Biblical language to become acquainted with God’s poetic methods of referring to the whoredoms of statism, where seeking human rulers is referred to in such ways as “drinking the waters” of the Nile (Egypt) or the Euphrates (Assyria). 

Avoiding worldly kingdoms to avoid judgment

It is curious how all these basic political lessons of scripture—prositute yourselves out to men and go into bondage to them—have been largely neglected for so long when the essence of Biblical politics is that a people who reject God and lust after human rulers will find themselves living in captivity to Egyptian-statist political regimes. One of God’s overall, standing warnings against people who wish to heed His word is that the adultery of statism—both the ideology that human government should exist as well as the actual practice of putting political power in place—will turn them into slaves to men. This is why God warns us to avoid these political systems that men go whoring after.

“They mingled with the nations and adopted their customs. They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them. They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons. They shed innocent blood— the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood. They defiled themselves by their actions and prostituted themselves by their deeds” (Psalm 106:35-39). 

For not listening to God’s warning, He allows these statist whores to be conquered by the objects of their lust. Shout “USA! USA!” enough times, and God assures that a people will be ruled by a gang of tyrants, as they surely are today.

“So the anger of the LORD burned against His people, and He abhorred His own inheritance. He delivered them into the hand of the nations, and those who hated them ruled over them. Their enemies oppressed them and subdued them under their hand. Many times He rescued them, but they were bent on rebellion and sank down in their iniquity” (Psalm 106:40-43). 

Will men ever learn?

Sadly, even after the harsh rebuke of statist tyrannies, eg., the police states, mass incarceration, surveillance systems, wars, trillions of dollars in taxes and monetary inflation, corruption of law and justice, political schemes, plunder conspiracies, and global scamdemics that always come when men set up human governments, people still don’t learn their lesson that being a statist whore gets you and your society destroyed — that cheating on God with human government is punished with slavery and death. 

Although statist adulterers are destroyed for their idolatry of the system of human government, they are so prideful that they maintain smiles and roars over their failing statist systems, continuing to sing their national anthems and praises all while things are falling apart around them. As God sees them, they “have the brazen look of a prostitute; you refuse to be ashamed” (Jeremiah 3:3). They are so full of themselves that they refuse to repent even when one of God’s children comes along and tells them to repent of their adultery and whoredom or else pay the price for it. 

To be sure, the idea of God’s judgment, which comes in the form of these States bringing tyranny and these societies collapsing in the end, was always meant by God to teach people a lesson in the sin and adultery of statism. 

“And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘Son of man, set your face against the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them. You are to say: ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD! This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: I am about to bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places. Your altars will be demolished and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will cast down your slain before your idols. I will lay the corpses of the Israelites before their idols and scatter your bones around your altars. Wherever you live, the cities will be laid waste and the high places will be demolished, so that your altars will be laid waste and desecrated, your idols smashed and obliterated, your incense altars cut down, and your works blotted out. The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am the LORD” (Ezekiel 6:7). 

God sends statist evils upon a people to reveal Himself to them and wake them up to the absolute imperative of turning back to the Lord as your King. The destruction and calamity that comes upon a people who forsake the Lord to trust in human rulers in His place has always been intended by God to serve as a wake-up call to acknowledge Him. Though repeated scriptural phrases like “then they will know that I am the Lord” are also tied to instances of deliverance, where liberation from Egyptian bondage also proves God is with a people, it is also tied to many instances of judgment, showing that one piece of evidence God provides for His existence is the very law of cause and effect itself: that a people who trust in the Lord alone can live free, and that those who forsake Him by trusting in systems of men get punished by tyranny and slavery. 

As we see often in scripture, God sends political tyrannies upon a people to wake them up for the adultery of statism. Yet, the idolatry and patriotism is often so strong in people that they remain proud even as things grow worse in their societies. This is how powerful the statist promiscuity is, where men become such statist whores that they can’t give up on sleeping around on the Lord who they should be faithful to. They root for various “presidents” as their saviors, all while God has sent them to bring judgment upon a people. They think God has sent a savior when He has sent a tyrant. They praise human rulers and worldly systems, all while living in captivity to them. The Babylonian exile, by the way, was the setting of Ezekiel 23, which was precisely a time when a people should be reflecting upon the sins that landed them in bondage, rather than doubling down on them.

What we see in history is that men have yet to really learn the harsh effects of their statist whoredom, at least long enough to keep political slavery away from them. Even after periods of repentance, men have returned to their old vomit and started whoring themselves out to human rulers again when things seemed good enough and safe enough to do evil again and get away with it. We might well say that statist prostitution is man’s oldest profession.

At any rate, God means for the increasingly evil conditions of political societies to serve as a path for people returning to Him as their only Lord, Savior, and King. God hopes that the global scamdemics and vaccination schemes will be just the jolt that men need to realize how far they have strayed from the Lord and the urgent need to repent of statist prostitution and return to their King. Unfortunately, it often must get much worse than that for people to realize the price they must pay for denying the Lord as their King and lusting after men. Some people won’t realize it until they’re being loaded up on a boxcar for a labor camp — and even then.
