The Political Plunder Conspiracy as Documented in the Bible

[This is part 2 in a series on “Conspiracy Theory and the Bible.” See part one]

Leaving Egypt Ministries, Obadiah D. Morris

If more people began to see that that global political conspiracy we’re dealing with today is an ancient one that has been recorded in the scriptures, the more they would see what a profound evil we are up against and that the plots hatched against us, from “world wars” to “great depressions” and “global pandemics,” are spiritual in nature and perpetrated by evil men who evidently coordinate with each other to plunder humanity. Furthermore, they could begin to see the utter futility of seeking to reform the statist systems of the world that have always been raised up against God, and could be turned toward the real work of seeking the Kingdom of God and spreading this Gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ alone as the only answer to the political bondage that we have found ourselves in due to our sin of idolatry, covetousness, murder, and sloth, which have all empowered these men to rule over us.

This is not an exhaustive list of the global-political conspiracy to plunder God’s people as told in the scripture. We might even submit that the whole of scripture—from the people who killed the prophets in the Old Testament to the conspiracy against Jesus and the apostles in the New Testament—is one huge narrative on this conspiracy, such that there is really no substitute for understanding the whole of God’s word on your own. However, a few quotes here may suffice to get people to begin to see it themselves, and more importantly, to realize the imperative of seeking the Lord to save us from these men. God’s word makes it abundantly clear that we are living in captivity to men and that these rulers (eg., presidents, congressmen, police, tax agents) are openly conspiring against us for our property, our liberty, and our lives. I will quote some of these instances and provide a brief commentary on them, in hopes that they are edifying to others who already see it, and more importantly, leading others who are currently in darkness to the light by pointing them to God and His word.

The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, and seek to slay him” ~ Psalm 37:32 (cp. 34:12).

Verily, there exists a gang of men, animated by spiritual evil, who call themselves “the government,” that prey upon the righteous — that is, those who follow the Lord and seek to keep His commandments. Contrary to those who are still lost in the world and tell us that Pharaoh’s sword comes down only upon those “bad guys” who “break the law,” the State is, in fact, a history of using violence against men who never violated any man’s body or property whatever but merely failed to satisfy some arbitrary edict of the masters, such as the nature of taxation — “give us money or we will hurt you.” Indeed, the State, as the only institution in society that has “legalized” its theft and crime, is predicated upon such violence and subsists by using it. This psalm is a warning to those doing the Lord’s work (eg., sounding the alarm on the plunder state that men have hitherto failed to recognize) that these wicked men who set themselves up as rulers may attempt to crush such efforts to break their yokes. Be careful, and trust in the Lord to bless us as we seek His Kingdom.

────────────

“He lies in wait near the villages; in ambush he slays the innocent; his eyes watch in stealth for the helpless.” ~ Psalm 10:8

Those men who provide “law enforcement” for the edicts of Pharaohs and their “lawmakers”—from the lowly badged officers to his federal letter agencies—dot the landscape in our modern world. They man the entry-ways of their claimed “jurisdictions,” hide behind cover like bushes and signs, and seek to prey upon the poor men in our world to bring back revenue for the crown. Their full-time jobs are conceiving—conspiring—of ways to extort the “public” who they claim to “protect and serve.”

────────────

They have tracked us down, and now surround us; their eyes are set to cast us to the ground.” ~ Psalm 17:11

In the age of the surveillance state, which has really been brought “online” in the internet, post-9/11 age, the conspirators are better able than ever to surveil the men who pose a threat to their regime by agitating others to wake up to their schemes — an evangelist calling we must fulfill despite these predators. After a good couple of decades into their mass surveillance efforts, millions of people have been logged by their systems, had information filed on them, and put on “watchlists” as men they regard as subversive to their regime. It is not different than in the times of the prophets, Christ, or His apostles. The rulers of the world seek the stalk, harass, and kill those who preach a gospel that is a threat to the kingdoms of men.

────────────

The wicked have drawn the sword and bent the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.” ~ Psalm 37:14

Though the elites have done a good job in creating socialists (whether democrats, Marxists, or even conservatives) as “useful idiots” who actually believe that governments exist to help poor people, the real economic purpose of statism is to transfer wealth from the masses of producers into the hands of non-producing political beneficiaries who earn their income via the (euphemistically-called) laws, licensing, regulations, and legislations of the regime, hence why the bankers, corporations, and other individuals are as rich and powerful as they are. It didn’t happen this way through a “free market,” though they like to pretend one is still in existence to suit the sensibilities of the slaves who like to imagine they are free. Rather, as the scripture says, they (the State) use the sword (violence) to bring down the poor. This is the purpose of their agents, their “law enforcers” who make sure the edicts of politicians are carried out at gunpoint. They work to make sure that free people who want to provide for their families and produce goods and services that serve their neighbors—the upright—are unable to do so without state-approval and without sharing a cut with Caesar.

────────────

“For he never thought to show kindness, but pursued the poor and needy and brokenhearted, even to their death.” ~ Psalm 109:16

The men who call themselves “the government” do not care that their oppression of us may lead to our death. Indeed, every edict of these men is based upon threats of violence and the willingness to use it to see that the commands of men are obeyed. Contrary to a society based on free exchange and voluntary charity, the State is a coercive institution that uses force to further its causes. These men are willing to murder if one doesn’t comply with them. Such is the nature of statism. As the 19th century abolitionist anarchist, Lysander Spooner, put it, “The fact is that the government, like a highwayman, says to a man: ‘Your money, or your life.’ And…taxes are paid under the compulsion of that threat” (Spooner, No Treason: The Constitution of No Authority, 1870). We are ruled by evil men who want us dead, even driving us to off ourselves. And seeing what they were able to carry out with Operation Covid-19, they are openly alright with directly killing us and disrupting our ability to provide for ourselves and others.

────────────

“He lies in wait like a lion in a thicket; he lurks to seize the oppressed; he catches the lowly in his net. They are crushed and beaten down; the hapless fall prey to his strength. He says to himself, ‘God has forgotten; He hides His face and never sees.’” ~ Psalm 10:9-11

It is characteristic of our captors, and a distinguishing feature of their pride and self-exaltation to power, that they believe that they are exempt from God’s judgment — that “God has forgotten” and does not see their evils. State rulers are so proud that they believe they can plunder us forever without paying the price for it. “In pride the wicked pursue the needy” (Psalm 10:2). The blind spot of the conspirators, which leads them to destroy even themselves, is that they have ignored that God is meanwhile conspiring against them and has not overlooked their conspiring against His people. “‘They bend their tongues like bows; lies prevail over truth in the land. For they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not take Me into account,’ declares the LORD” (Jeremiah 9:3). But it can’t last forever. As the Lord promises, “All the horns of the wicked I will cut off, but the horns of the righteous will be exalted” (Psalm 75:10; cf. Psa 101:8, 112:9, 148:14). The things they plot against us will eventually come down on their own heads (Prov 10:24).

────────────

“I hear the slander of many; there is terror on every side. They conspire against me and plot to take my life. But I trust in You, O LORD; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in Your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.” ~ Psalm 31:13-15

When we know that God is with us, we no longer must stand around alone and hopeless in our knowledge that there has been a vast conspiracy launched against us; we take comfort knowing that the Lord is here to protect us against these men who plot wickedness all the day long. We need not despair with God on our side. “Though they intend you harm, the schemes they devise will not prevail” (Psalm 21:11). The conspirators’ days are ultimately numbered. And so we ought not fear the conspiracies of men. As the prophets have encouraged us, “Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, who you now fear; do not be afraid of him, declares the Lord, for I am with you to save you and deliver you from him” (Jeremiah 42:11). Being that the statist conspirators have not yet been able to destroy absolutely everything, God is evidently already with us protecting us from their schemes. “If the Lord had not been on our side when men attacked us…then they would have swallowed us alive” (Psalm 124:2-3). While many men continue to be ensnared by their traps, we ought to still thank God all the day long that these men haven’t been able to do all they would love to do to us if they knew they could get away with it. “Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth. We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowler; the net is torn, and we have slipped away. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 124:6-8).

────────────

“The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together, against the LORD and against His Anointed One: ‘Let us break Their chains and cast away Their cords.” ~ Psalm 2:2-3

“The conspiracy,” so to speak, is necessarily against Christ and His kingdom. The rulers of the world, ie., the men who call themselves “governments” to provide a public-good cover for their plundering, are in an open conspiracy against the Lord. They have elevated themselves up as the “gods” and imagine that they are in control of everything. And men have fallen for their tricks, too. But there can be no greater contrast than between the statist kingdoms of men and the Kingdom of God. The two are mutually-exclusive — they are opposed to another another, and when either one advances, the other is being diminished.

────────────

“My son, if sinners entice you, do not yield to them. If they say, ‘Come along, let us lie in wait for blood, let us ambush the innocent without cause, let us swallow them alive like Sheol, and whole like those descending into the Pit. We will find all manner of precious goods; we will fill our houses with plunder. Throw in your lot with us; let us all share one purse’—My son, do not walk the road with them or set foot upon their path. For their feet run to evil, and they are swift to shed blood.” ~ Proverbs 1:10-16

The plunderers are nothing without men to join in their conspiracy with them, not only because they must buy support by making some men the beneficiaries of their mass theft against the people they rule over, but also simply because they need man-power. Those who concoct these socialist schemes against people thus require police officers to enforce their political decrees, soldiers to invade countries they wish to dominate, people to administer this system for them, and proud citizens to eat their benefits which bring them into bondage. These sinners—the political rulers who have stolen tax money and money printers in which to purchase other men for their cause—thus entice men to join in with their sin, against God’s caution that wisdom and understanding is better than paychecks and the alleged prestige of serving Pharaohs (Prov 16:16). To serve the State is a satanic temptation that suckers men into betraying God and selling out their own souls for a paycheck and retirement from Pharaoh.

────────────

“They cannot sleep unless they do evil; they are deprived of slumber until they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence” ~ Proverbs 4:16-17

Whereas normal men lose sleep if they have wronged others, we are ruled by men who are so evil that they can’t sleep unless they have plans under way to plunder others, and so they spend most of their waking hours in the war rooms, police stations, town halls, etc., concocting schemes against men, discovering new ways in which they can rob people, raid their homes, kidnap them, or kill them if they resist. Those who rule over men from the political apparatus don’t rest unless they have a plunder scheme in mind. Indeed, “Even on his bed he plots wickedness; he sets himself on a path that is not good; he fails to reject evil” (Psalm 36:4).

────────────

Their deeds are sinful deeds, and acts of violence are in their hands. Their feet run to evil; they are swift to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are sinful thoughts; ruin and destruction lie in their wake. The way of peace they have not known, and there is no justice in their tracks. They have turned them into crooked paths; no one who treads on them will know peace.” ~ Isaiah 59:6-8 (cf. Prov 1:16)

There are men in our world—those who sign up to be soldiers in Pharaoh’s wars or “law enforcers” on his plantation—who seek out evil, whose rebelliousness against God leads them into the darkness of violently serving the demonic statist world-system, which destroys everything in its path, breeds the chaos and disorder that men have been tricked into believing would exist without them, and have corrupted any sense of peace, justice, and morality in their society where they have tread.

────────────

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness. Behold, all who rage against you will be ashamed and disgraced; those who contend with you will be reduced to nothing and will perish.” ~ Isaiah 41:10-11

Those who lack a fear of the Lord are most often consumed by a fear of men, such that they believe they need to be involved in politics to try and change the outcome of an inherently evil system. Without a fear of the Lord, ie., a faith in the Lord and His promises, the “conspiracy theorist” is likely to feel isolated and hopeless about the world around them. But God assures us that He will utterly destroy these men who stand over us and claim a “right” to rob us and tell us what to do. They are temporal in God’s overall plan to tear them down to size. Rejoice, then, for the Lord is our ally if we choose Him; the systems of men are living on borrowed time.

────────────

“For I have heard the whispering of many: ‘Terror is on every side! Report him; let us report him!’ All my trusted friends watch for my fall: ‘Perhaps he will be deceived so that we may prevail against him and take our vengeance upon him.’” ~ Jeremiah 20:10

For preaching the word of God to men, eg., that judgment comes down upon those men who rebelliously set their societies up by employing the political means of violence against their neighbor, men seek to shut us down and silence us: whether family, friends, or government actors. In our world where Federal agencies have (like their Nazi or Soviet predecessors) enlisted such slogans as, “If you see something, say something,” in their efforts to get men to side with the State against their neighbors, men are likely to be reported to Pharaoh and his agents for the no-small-stir that could be caused if the word of the Lord were able to reach the masses who are duped by the phony, farcical, statist ideas of men. Such was the experience of the Biblical prophets, and us too. We cannot even trust those who have claimed to be our friends. “Even my close friend whom I trusted, the one who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me” (Psalm 41:9). We should not be surprised that preaching the truth may cause our closest loved ones to turn against us (Job 19:19). These people flee from us because they flee the truth (Psa 31:11). But how blessed are we to be in this position, rather than among the evil men who buy into, or perpetuate, lies (Matt 5:11)?

────────────

“For from the time I brought your fathers out of the land of Egypt until today, I strongly warned them again and again, saying, ‘Obey My voice.’ Yet they would not obey or incline their ears, but each one followed the stubbornness of his evil heart. So I brought on them all the curses of this covenant I had commanded them to follow but they did not keep.’ And the LORD told me, ‘There is a conspiracy among the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem. They have returned to the sins of their forefathers who refused to obey My words. They have followed other gods to serve them.” ~ Jeremiah 11:7-10

Men have not wanted to submit to God’s government, and, with the help of the conspirators who train them how to think, have gone after other false systems that enslave them. Part of the “conspiracy,” so to speak, has always been to get men to slide away from God and into the hands of men — to get them to chase after other “gods,” eg., the State and its actors. The essence of the “conspiracy” is thus that men have been conspiring against God.

────────────

“Then some said, ‘Come, let us make plans against Jeremiah, for the law will never be lost to the priest, nor counsel to the wise, nor an oracle to the prophet. Come, let us denounce him and pay no heed to any of his words’” ~ Jeremiah 18:18

Those who conspire against us to rob and enslave us must also have control over official narratives and ideologies, so that the slaves may be mentally whipped into line and prepared to spin apologia for their own enslavement. Thus, the conspirators must deal with prophets of God directly if their false prophets are failing to lead men toward the lie. Jeremiah was going around telling others that God can pull down kingdoms (v. 7), that he will revoke blessings He had planned for men when they turn to evil instead (v. 10), that indeed He was devising a plan—conspiring in other words—against the conspirators themselves (v. 11), and that He would turn them over to their enemies for their evils (v. 17). Thus, Jeremiah had to be “dealt with.” Such is the case for other men who gain too much popularity, or make too much headway, in exposing the system of political plunder today or thwarting them in some other way.

────────────

“For among My people are wicked men; they watch like fowlers lying in wait; they set a trap to catch men.” ~ Jeremiah 5:26

As the police state has progressed in the last century, and especially in the first quarter of the twenty-first century, we’re now almost fully surround by satanic agents of government who seek to plunder men. They set up “checkpoints” to rob or cage those who haven’t obtained a “driver license” from Pharaoh, they conspire against men to invade their homes on accusations that they’re selling drugs, they look for myriad ways in which they can take down anyone who stands against them, and thousands of agencies at many levels of the political system work together to control men and kill those who don’t obey them. Lord God, be with us. We have found ourselves living in captivity for the evil ideas repeated by our people and taught by the rulers —“this is a free country,” “back the blue,” “thank you veterans for your service.” Keep us safe, Lord, from these men whose full-time “job” is preying on us on behalf of their masters. And bring them to repentance.

────────────

“The conspiracy of the princes in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing its prey. They devour the people, seize the treasures and precious things, and multiply the widows within her. Her priests do violence to My law and profane My holy things. They make no distinction between the holy and the common, and they fail to distinguish between the clean and the unclean. They disregard My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. Her officials within her are like wolves tearing their prey, shedding blood, and destroying lives for dishonest gain. Her prophets whitewash these deeds by false visions and lying divinations, saying, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says,’ when the LORD has not spoken. The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy and have exploited the foreign resident without justice.” ~ Ezekiel 22:25-29

The nature of “the conspiracy,” of course, is a political conspiracy. Men have used the centralized institutions of power, called “governments,” to coerce, rob, conquer, and murder other people, replete with false prophets—priests, academics, journalists—to apologize for the plunder of the regime as being allegedly necessary to social order and justice. These men exist to call extortion “taxation,” murder “war” or “the officer feared for his life,” and any number of their other evils by name other than what it really is: violence and plunder. These lies are, of course, contrary to what God’s true prophets see when they look at these systems. As one Biblical prophet said, “Whenever I speak, I cry out, I proclaim violence and destruction” (Jeremiah 20:8). God’s prophets don’t mince words like statist intellectuals who attempt to call this system something other than what it really is, but call it just as they see it. “As a well gushes its water, so she pours out her evil. Violence and destruction resound in her; sickness and wounds are ever before me” (Jeremiah 6:7).

────────────

“Woe to those who devise iniquity and plot evil on their beds! At morning’s light they accomplish it because the power is in their hands. They covet fields and seize them; they take away houses. They deprive a man of his home, a fellow man of his inheritance” ~ Micah 2:1-2

When men don’t listen to the word of the Lord, when they refuse to see that statism is plunder, they bring upon themselves tyrannical police states that will eventually show them (the hard way) just how evil these things are that they supported. As anyone who knows scripture could have predicted then, twenty-first century America has now become a land of tens of thousands of SWAT raids every year (many of them pre-dawn, or as the prophet says “at morning’s light”), hundreds of various agencies visiting people at their homes, and tax agents seizing property for not paying Pharaoh “his” money. Once you allow men to rule over you, there will necessarily be a conspiracy over you to take you for all your worth.

────────────

“The godly man has perished from the earth; there is no one upright among men. They all lie in wait for blood; they hunt one another with a net. Both hands are skilled at evil; the prince and the judge demand a bribe. When the powerful utters his evil desire, they all conspire together. The best of them is like a brier; the most upright is sharper than a hedge of thorns.” ~ Micah 7:2-4

One of the ways the conspirators work together is to control layers of government that ostensibly act as “checks and balances,” but which, in fact, work together to sign-off on each others deeds. Thus, we have the supposedly disinterested judge who supposedly just hears “the facts of the case” and weighs in on it, but who really gives preferred treatment to his own henchmen who he goes out to lunch with when they murder with badges on; we have the “internal affairs departments” who basically say “we’ve investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing” when one of Pharaoh’s law enforcement agents murders someone for not perfectly complying with all his orders in a traffic stop; or the co-workers in a given department that help to hide evidence that could be used against one of their agents. These men, that is those who shed blood for the system of political violence, are utterly evil. The best of them is like a briar.

────────────

“Whatever you plot against the LORD, He will bring to an end. Affliction will not rise up a second time. For they will be entangled as with thorns and consumed like the drink of a drunkard— like stubble that is fully dry. From you, O Nineveh, comes forth a plotter of evil against the LORD, a counselor of wickedness. This is what the LORD says: ‘Though they are allied and numerous, yet they will be cut down and pass away.'” ~ Nahum 1:9-12

As great and wide as the conspiracy is against us—Operation Covid 19 exposed it as an evidently global conspiracy of States working together—it is still no match for the Lord; He will bring down the biggest plunder systems out there, no matter how many allies in world plunder they have to try and keep it going. This is our hope, that statist plunder—a conspiracy against men and their property by the ruling elites—cannot go on forever. No matter how enormous and hegemonic these institutions have grown, God has no problem knocking them down. “The Lord God of Hosts will lop off the branches with terrifying power. The tall trees will be cut down, the lofty ones felled” (Isaiah 10:33).

────────────

“The king of Israel declared, ‘Take Micaiah and return him to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king’s son, and tell them that this is what the king says: Put this man in prison and feed him only bread and water.” ~ 1 Kings 22:26-27

For speaking the word of the Lord, which in this case was that such kings cannot succeed in their military adventures, the prophet Micaiah was ordered by the king into a prison. King Ahab preferred the paid-lies of his false prophets, who pronounced victory. Micaiah lied at first to be snarky and safe (22:15). But the king pretended he didn’t want to hear a lie (22:16), and yet when the Lord’s prophet told him the truth about the inevitable failure of his plans to conquer others (22:17), the king was angry (22:18). Those who conspire war against others—war being an essential part of the global statist conspiracy—never want to consult the Lord. They want to believe in their own abilities to rule others, as well as the lies of their advisors. Micaiah had the truth of the Lord in him, but the king said, “I hate him because he never prophesies anything good about me, but always bad” (22:8). Thus he called for his imprisonment. State rulers hate God’s people who call out their evils and predict their inevitable failures and foresee the fall of their empires. For our purposes, we have to remember that even if it hurts others’ feelings or angers them, it is important for us to speak truth to the ruling regime and its lies: statism brings destruction and judgment.

────────────

“Ahab told his wife Jezebel what Elijah had done and that he had killed the prophets. She sent a message to Elijah: ‘You killed my prophets. Now I’m going to kill you! I pray that the gods will punish me even more severely if I don’t do it by this time tomorrow.’” (1 Kings 19:1-2).

The prophet Elijah was on the run from the crown after killing the prophets that Queen Jezebel had relied on to do her “prophesying.” The regime of the day was conspiring to murder him for exposing—by way of showing in a challenge how powerless these “prophets” were to channel their “gods” to send fire—the false god nature of their system, for showing how phony the pagan foundation to their power really was. For while the prophets of Baal which he killed weren’t really official state employees (sort of how the Marxist philosophers in the Universities today may or may not be directly on the government payroll but still function as its propagandists), they still functioned as de facto propagandists for the state system by promoting the religious practices that undergirded the royal authority of the day and by attacking prophets like Elijah who challenged the king’s authority. Much like those who defend the alleged necessity of economic intervention today in the name of furthering the “public good,” the presence of these (false) prophets was still essential to the religious and political landscape in that period. Hence the need to destroy Elijah. However, we need not physically murder the false prophets of today (the false pastors of the churches, the socialist ideologues, the interventionist economists, and statist theorists in general) to “kill” them, so to speak; the power of their propaganda is diminished upon preaching God’s word to men.
