Despite the ruling elites becoming even more brazen and undisguised about their evils in recent years and appearing to be more shameless about their misdeeds than ever before, most people still hold the same old fallacies and fantasies spun by statist propagandists centuries ago: That “America is the greatest country ever,” that “we’re the richest country in the world,” that this is the “land of the free,” etc.
Many men, in other words, are still holding to the ancient fallacies and sins of the scriptures: Namely, placing their faith and trust in the false gods of human “government” and forgetting their Lord as their God.
Although some men are waking up more than ever, many Americans would still identify this Babylonian-statist society as only being slightly short of perfection, as a beast with only a few blemishes. To them, the American State—another institution that exists in the lineage of Babylon, Egypt, and Rome—is still one of the best creations and institutions the world has ever known, albeit having gone a little off course in recent decades.
The only problems usually identified are surface-level ones that they don’t think have any deeper, underlying causes (e.g., the belief that systems based on tax robbery can work any other way than they, in fact, do). The current “government” isn’t right, one “law” might have gone a little too far, and sure, many people might have been abused, kidnapped, killed, or beaten on the roadside by an officer of the law. But there are no problems in this “great country” that can’t be fixed by voting in new people next election, “reforming” the justice system, or having “better training” for police. They aren’t inherent, systemic problems that necessitate that these things turn out this way. The police state only has a “few bad apples”; it wasn’t created to rob people and carry out the edicts of other men.
In short, most men who level a criticism against the current government the way it stands still fail to see that the system itself is based on violence, abuse, and tyranny, and is working exactly like one should expect it to work. They don’t see that all systems of human government are founded in rebellion against God’s rule and His law. This is still the “great democracy” in which to place all our hopes for freedom and salvation.
Though it is increasingly difficult for men to deny that something is wrong today, nevertheless they fail to go all the way and see that all the evils of human government are but the divine consequence of having turning away from God’s anarchy by setting these systems up to begin with. Though men may widely point out that things have gone wrong in their society, nevertheless they do not trace the effects of these evils back to their own sins involved in raising up rulers.
The problem we have today is thus more so one of men complaining about the effects of their own evildoing, while failing both to recognize their complicity in it or to repent from their ongoing participation in these evils. Though men may criticize the system as it stands, they have largely not reformed their hearts and would be satisfied if only it would transform slightly in their favor. They may hate or despise some current politicians in a pathetic complaint about how bad it has become “all of a sudden,” but they haven’t abandoned the evil philosophy of statism, and they don’t truly understand how it had to turn out this way given the sins involved in raising up rulers and believing in the alleged need for authoritarian governors.
The American idea of liberty
Our people thus have a very skewed view of what is happening, which keeps them from seeing that everything we are experiencing today—namely the evils of human government proliferating throughout society—are but the very things that always result when men go down the political road of the world, against the counsel of the Lord to not walk on the evil path or to adopt the ways, customs, and laws of the ungodly men around them. Moreover, professing Christians have been incapable of realizing what has happened—we are all living in Babylonian captivity for our sins—because they have been trained by false pastors and false prophets to believe that these wicked systems of human government are friends of God when they are, in fact, the very worldly institutions that make all those who support them God’s enemies (James 4:4). The majority of the men who call themselves Christians have mixed and matched the philosophy of God’s liberty—this anarchistic Gospel of the Kingdom of God—with the political systems of men and their political ideologies, which has worked to produce an ungodly, political slave society that somehow presents itself as a “free” and (worst of all) Christian social order.
Since men have not known that the Kingdom of God and the statist kingdoms of men are at enmity with one another and that their underlying ideologies—the Gospel of God’s anarchist Kingdom vs. the statist philosophies of men—are incompatible with each other, they have built up inherently-ungodly, Egyptian statist systems while presenting them as the ideal and prescribed political order of God. Hence the popular slogan that “America is a Christian country.”
Despite the relentless theme throughout Scripture of remembering God as one who delivers His people from Egypt and other statist systems which it symbolizes (Exodus 13:3; Acts 7:36), our people have adopted the Egyptian’s methods of social organization over the Kingdom of God and called it “freedom.” They have turned to the means of political violence in their (obviously failed) quest for law, order, protection, and welfare, thinking that these things could only be obtained by raising up Pharaohs, legislators, police officers, and other magistrates who exercise authority over other men.
The people of the world today thus have no idea what freedom is beyond the lies fed to them by the Egyptians, e.g., that “this is a free country and you can thank a solider for it.” They think they are free because Pharaoh and his boys have not cracked them over the head just yet. They think they are “free” because the devil’s government pretends to assure their “religious freedom,” which it would surely not grant if they actually repented of their support and service for the kingdoms of the world and began seeking the Kingdom of God which abolishes human government. Moreover, the ability of these ungodly system of human government to persist for sometime, in spite of all the evils inherent to them, has allowed these statists to avoid seeing that they are living out of line with the will of God and His gospel, calling all men to repent of their Roman ways and seek the Kingdom of God alone. The ability of the governments of the devil to continue for sometime despite being raised up against God has allowed men to think that they must, therefore, have divine favor in God’s eyes, when they are all but the concessions of the sins of men that God uses to exact judgment against them. They think that because their Egyptian society has not yet gone completely bust that living like an Egyptian must therefore be God’s plan for social order, rather than His means of judging sinners who are evil enough to raise up human rulers to be their providers instead of the Lord.
Americans’ idea of “freedom” is that they are free because they have not yet been beaten, robbed, kidnapped, or caged, by the governments of man. As long as they’re not directly in a physical prison, they call the open-air prison society a “free” one. As long as the sword of Egypt hasn’t come down on them personally (which is only proof of them being good slaves or having luckily dodged it thus far), then it does not matter to them that tens of thousands of other people’s homes are invaded by badged thugs every year in their country. “They must have been making drugs or something.”
Under the many delusions of freedom and prosperity that Egyptian-statist systems are able to maintain for a time, the people who grow comfortable living under this perverted statist systems of men are rarely ever able to see the plunder, captivity, and judgment we are already under simply for living under a State, which alone is proof of divine justice coming against a people—not to mention the increasing evils that always abound under these systems in a progression of God’s judgment against those wicked idolaters who support these systems as they grow more evil. Millions of men do not care at all that their neighbors who they are called to love and liberate are everywhere in chains and under the threat of direct harm by the men who they still regard as their “heroes” and saviors. They still believe evil things like, “If you don’t want to go to prison, then don’t commit a crime.” They have no idea that “crime” according to the Egyptians is any arbitrary thing these governments call “illegal” and that none of this equates with morality and justice. They have no idea, therefore, that thousands of non-violent people—men who never violated anyone’s rights and hence cannot be considered criminals—are in cages simply for disobeying some edict of these false gods or running afoul of Pharaoh’s commands or coming on the radar of his footmen. They have no idea that all the injustices and corruption that they are able to loosely identify are but the divine justice of the Lord coming down against them for the sin of outsourcing their personal responsibilities to love and serve their neighbors directly over to authoritarians who rule over them with boots and bayonets. As a the Christian Anarchist, Ammon Hennacy, saw clearly, in a short pamphlet titled the “One Man Revolution,”
“Why are we in this mess? Because we have sought security outside ourselves instead of accepting responsibility. Because we have left the matter to the politicians, accepted their bribes of pensions and subsidies, and their impossible promises of prosperity.” — Ammon Hennacy
Thy trouble we face today is not only that we live under another one of the inherently evil systems of human government of the world that have prevailed throughout history, but that those who live under it have wanted it to be this way and are in support of it. As much as we may address the issue of the direct evils that come from these worldly governments, they owe their entire existence to the sins of men, without which they couldn’t exist. Were it not for the idolatry and covetousness in the hearts of men, the kingdoms of the world could not exist. Were it not for their slothfulness to seek the Kingdom of God and provide welfare, protection, and justice to their neighbors personally, freely, and directly, without raising up tax-based systems of authoritarian rule, the systems of human civil government would be without an ostensible reason for their existence, as they all rely upon slothful, idolatrous, and apathetic men who do not think that it is their godly duty to protect and serve on their own but who claim instead that this need necessitates police, soldiers, congressmen, and presidents.
Another problem of the conception of freedom today is that men do define freedom not as a political concept referring to the absence of human rulers and their legalized aggression in society (e.g., freedom from taxation and man’s “laws”), but in terms of their material well-being, good jobs, or their lovely families. For many people, their houses, trucks, boats, RVs, and nice neighborhoods—all which they got largely from compromising with the Egyptian system they live under and serving it for a paycheck—are proof of their “freedom.” Anyone who doesn’t want to appreciate that “we’re the richest, best, most-free country in the world” should show some more appreciation, “thank a veteran,” or “leave the country if they don’t like it.” They have attributed all they have to men and their governments, not to God and His blessings, save a few obligatory words about how much God has blessed them in their otherwise Babylonian lifestyle. And they never heed the word of God on these matters, that “he who trusts in his riches will fall” (Proverbs 11:28). They didn’t read the scriptures that tell us it is God who will feed us and protect us, and that men and their statist political systems will only bring us famines and insecurity through their socialist schemes.
Men today have become drunk on the plunder of the empire and have long forgotten God in the process, which tells us that we’re in for a major correction. The loot of the empire—the retirements that come from serving their military, the big trucks one can get with cheap credit, the incomes one can receive serving the Egyptians—has already done the people in and caused them to sell out to the rulers for the things of their neighbors which they have to offer those sinners willing to take them. They have sold out their liberty for breadcrumbs at the tables of Rome and found themselves living in the bondage of Egypt for their appetite for benefits and their longing to be served by Caesars and Pharaohs rather than the Lord their God, whose gospel—that all things will be added unto those who seek the Kingdom of God—they have not believe.
The Bible warned us of this scenario where men would get carried away with worldly riches and forget about their bondage and God’s ability to deliver us from it:
“Be careful not to forget the LORD your God by failing to keep His commandments and ordinances and statutes, which I am giving you this day. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses in which to dwell, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all that you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud, and you will forget the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. He led you through the vast and terrifying wilderness with its venomous snakes and scorpions, a thirsty and waterless land. He brought you water from the rock of flint. He fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers had not known, in order to humble you and test you, so that in the end He might cause you to prosper” (Deuteronomy 8:11-16).
Men quit trusting in God to feed them, house them, and protect them, and have passed this faith and responsibility off to human governors who have made slaves out of the people who were willing to beg for scraps at their feet rather than look out for their neighbors on their own and live freely under God. Men today do not believe in liberty under God — that anarchistic natural order where there are no human archists to supposedly provide the protection and welfare that sinners say require us to live under human governments. These faithless men instead tell us that we would all be starving, vulnerable to criminals, dominated by warlords, or living in an otherwise lawless and chaotic society without Pharaohs and their police officers to watch over us—that is, if we trusted in God alone.
When men claim that human governments are essential to their protection, welfare, and liberty, they expose themselves as ungodly men who have no faith in the Lord to serve those who serve Him. And it is no wonder that such widespread defense of human government is found in our society today: for it is an ungodly one that has for its primary proof of ungodliness the pervasive trust in presidents, legislators, soldiers, and police to “protect and serve” their societies for them. Faith in human government is the very thing men fall into when they have turned their faith away from God. Notwithstanding their exceptional ability to keep the Lord’s name on their lips while otherwise thinking and living like Egyptians, the statists of the world today are primary people who prove that they have no faith in the Lord at all to protect and serve them. This is why they think that all they have came from the empire, which they can’t imagine will eventually leave them desolate. This is why they call police heroes and cite soldiers as the reason for having English as their first language, rather than German, Japanese, or Arabic. The justification for human government is not only all the proof one needs that a man lacks the Holy Spirit and does not know the Lord as His only God. The insistence that human governments are necessary for social order is the primary mark of an ungodly man. Statism is the philosophy people adopt when they reject God and His Kingdom. Praising presidents, soldiers, and police is what ungodly men do. That is why it’s so prevalent today. This is an ungodly people. And statism is their characteristic mark.
Yet this is essentially God’s promise: If you think that Pharaohs and Caesars feed you and that you no longer have a need for God, you will soon find out that these men and their “governments” are false gods with false gospel-promises of freedom and prosperity, who eventually leave people homeless, broken, starved, or trying to survive on a labor camp or under the eye of a police state.
“You might say in your heart, ‘The power and strength of my hands have made this wealth for me.’ But remember that it is the LORD your God who gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm His covenant that He swore to your fathers even to this day. If you ever forget the LORD your God and go after other gods to worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely perish. Like the nations that the LORD has destroyed before you, so you will perish if you do not obey the LORD your God” (Deuteronomy 8:17-20).
The destruction of society through the wars, conflicts, poverty, famines, etc., that “naturally” result from state intervention into God’s natural order is God’s way of punishing people for their statist sins and (hopefully) waking them back up to the need to choose God if they want to be fed and freed. Statism destroys societies so that men will—ideally—return to God and seek His Kingdom at the exclusion of man’s kingdoms, who at the end of their reign finally prove to have let everyone down.
Alas, men are hardheaded fools and rarely ever learn even under the harsh judgment of Pharaoh and his bootboys enslaving them and even trying to exterminate them. Even when men do see that the freedom they could have had under God is compromised in the process of building up a state system to rob others via taxation to supposedly “protect” everyone with government armies and government police, the contradiction of now living under the very system of robbery you sought to avoid in a State is often simply justified with absurd slogans like “freedom isn’t free.” They reason, in their reprobate minds that are far from God, that freedom has to be sacrificed to have it, i.e., that men have to be robbed for trillions of dollars a year to pay for a state military and an enormous system of political plunder. They repeat the old Bush fallacy that “we have to abandon free market principles in order to save the free market.” They claim that freedom requires a military and police state when such systems inherently invade liberty and negate the claim to it entirely, as it more surely does every day now.
The problem is not that men couldn’t be free if they wanted it—that they couldn’t find the blessings of the Lord that have been promised to those who seek His Kingdom and abandon the sinful works of building of human governments. It is that it has always been difficult to lead men to repent from these sins and show them the way out of their political slave societies, which they have thought not only to be “free” societies but ones that are in line with the politics of the Lord. The issue is not that liberty under God is impossible or unworkable, but that the men who are able to see it are rare. As the prophet Isaiah said straight away, “My people do not understand” (Isaiah 1:3). They think that the slavery of statism is freedom, and that freedom under God is slavery. They think that human government means “law and order” and that God’s anarchy would mean chaos and lawlessness. They think that Egypts and Pharaohs are the ideal political society of God and that the gospel call to repent and seek the Kingdom of God have nothing to do with a literal, alternative society on earth. A population of people are “free” to them when there are police and soldiers standing over them and men still above them ordering them around. Whether simply relying on the preexisting sins of the people or spreading propaganda to aid it, the rulers of the world have always depending on men buying into the idea that God’s anarchy is chaos and war, but the devil’s government is peace and freedom — a lie that works on the majority of men, who without the Lord’s wisdom are prone to buying into the political thinking of the world that says that human governments are essential to “freedom,” “justice,” or “national defense.”
The only real freedom is when God is a people’s only God and where human archists cease to exist. But our people have not known the Lord as their only King of the type of freedom and social order that He would secure for those who got serious about seeking His Kingdom. They count their liberty by the number of boots men have strapped on for Pharaoh.
The fallacy of a “godly statist” society
To think that statist societies have God on them is thus the peak of absurdity (unless, of course, we’re considering that His hand of judgment is upon it). We see that we can never trust the view of the masses because men, by and large, think Babylonian empires represent God’s political order and cannot see that they are its main enemy.
Far from being approved by God, setting up statist societies has always been mankind’s main way of forsaking God as their ruler and rejecting His liberty. As one prophet said, in an unmistakable prooftext for the evils and sin in statism,
“They set up kings, but not by Me. They make princes, but without My approval. With their silver and gold they make themselves idols, to their own destruction” (Hosea 8:4).
Though the “governments” of man are conspiracies against the Kingdom of God and organized plots to plunder His children, the idolaters of the world find in them the prescriptive will of God for the organization of society.
Though the idolaters of the world see “God and country” as two peas in a pod, the fact is that one could not find a greater contradiction on earth than this. Nothing is more antagonistic than God and human government, than the myth that one may serve the Lord and Caesar. There is no such thing as a “Christian State.” All States have their origins in a revolt against God and an attempt to substitute human rulers for the sole rulership of the Lord. When Cain went and erected his city-state, scripture was clear that he “went out from the presence of the Lord” (Genesis 4:16). When Babel was being built, they attempted to “reach into heaven” (Genesis 11:4). When the Israelites wanted a king, they were shown to have “rejected God” (1 Samuel 10:19). All the kingdoms the prophets tell us about were deviations from the godly society, hence why they came under judgment.
For men to believe that the evil statist systems of the world have “God” on them is the great satanic deception throughout history. That’s just how Satan works, though, to pose as good, to “masquerade as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14).
It’s no surprise then that the wicked political plunderers have posted “In God We Trust” on their extortion courts, their predatory police cruisers, and their inflationary paper currency. It’s no surprise that they teach “we” are “one nation under God.” They had to make men equate robbery and violence with God and make them believe that man’s plunder systems were sanctioned by the Lord, because men were always going to claim God, poke around in their Bibles, and potentially get to the bottom of the truth without thousands of false prophets standing in the way of the narrow gate.
Far from being a “godly” or “blessed” society, any statist society is essentially proof that people are under the judgment of God for their sins of praising false gods (e.g., politicians) and begging them for justice, law, bread, and other benefits. The existence of human rulers over a people is proof that they are being cursed by God for the sin of rejecting His rule. Those who believe in the contradiction of “God and country” seek in vain to maintain that statism—the belief in human government as well as the practice of setting up rulers—is compatible with God and His Kingdom, for doing so has always represented the main sins of mankind which led to their bondage.
Though men could have lived freely if they made the Lord their only God, and still can if they would repent of the sins that led to their bondage, they decided to raise up many false gods as their rulers instead, putting into place presidents, legislators, and their many law enforcers and bureaucratic paper-pushers who assure the operation of the political slave society (at least until God decides to end it). There is no freedom today because men have made men their gods, rather than the Lord their God who frees His people from the Egyptian slave societies that they wrongly trusted in for their salvation. They forgot that “the Egyptians are men, and not God” (Isaiah 31:3). No wonder they have thought that man’s political systems are representative of the Kingdom of God, or at least some approximation of it.
Under the false equation of human government with “liberty and justice,” which forgets the Lord as our provider of these things, our people have been all around fooled and brought into Egyptian bondage, not only without realizing it, but adding to their sins the idea that God has approved of it.
It is never possible to discern what is going on in the world merely from taking it from men who have likewise taken their knowledge from the world. The “wisdom” of the world is that human government is the source of freedom and prosperity. The politics of the world is the idea that human rulers are needed for the provision of various so-called “public goods.” If you take it from worldly men, you will be taught that statism is the appropriate political position for all men to adopt; God’s anarchism is completely out of their minds and hearts. The only way to see what’s truly going on in the world is to turn to the word of God, since worldly men are liars and perverters and most often come up with various socialist philosophies and worldviews when they seek to understand the world around them. To come to a proper political understanding, it is necessary to learn from God rather than men. The prophets saw something other than what the people of the world think they see when they conflate a statist society as a “godly” one. The statism in our society is the opposite of godliness; it is a society of false god worship. The existence of a State always implies the abundance of ungodly men. Far from seeing godly men in a statist society, what Isaiah saw was that “this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord” (Isaiah 30:9). States are founded on the violations of God’s Law by men, and everywhere they exist there are men who live in rebellion to the commands and instructions of the Lord.
Though they claim to be a people who love God and who seek “the Kingdom” in some vague sense of the term, the statists of the world are a sinful people who build and further human civil governments against the will of God, who repeat and refine the lies of statism, and who calls man’s violent edicts by the good name of “law” and then justify their “law enforcers” as good and holy men who “uphold law and order” and “keep the peace,” when they’re the very plunderers that prey on God’s people for their pay.
The people vs. the prophets
We thus have a severe discrepancy between what the word of God says about our conditions—we are living in statist bondage due to the sins associated with man-made political systems—and what the average man thinks his society is. The prophets tell of a scene far different from the statist paradise preached by most men today.
The prophet Isaiah was seeing something in the social order of his day—the same evil one we still endures in our time—that is much different than what the average man can discern. He saw that,
“This is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, ‘Restore’” (Isaiah 42:22).
Far from being a “free people” who are blessed by God for getting to live under the “great” government of the “United States,” we are all a bunch of tax slaves, slaves of court systems, slaves of jails and prisons, slaves of police hiding behind unmowed grass to prey on us. And not only only do few men even care, but very few of them can even see it, much less come to the knowledge that it is an effect of our own sin that we need to repent from. In fact, so few men are able to see the Egyptian police state society that we live under, that it is a risk to even talk about it and call others back to the ways of the Lord. The lying statists have our would-be brothers whipped into line and few of them today are crying to God to save us from these Babylonians.
Though some men speak of vague “reforms” that need to happen, few men reject the Babylonian system outright as a great wickedness against God and His law of liberty. Our people have been taken for a spoil, and they think it has been the most glorious system the world has ever known. Our people have been robbed and plundered by the government of the devil, and they think it has been God’s design and desire.
Men are so far from the truth today that not only do they fail to see it was their own sin that wound them up in bondage to human governments, but they do not even see that they are in bondage. They think these systems have been the source of their “freedom.” Even when they do manage to identify some problems in society, they remain unable to see the root-cause of their own sins, which they refuse to believe are involved in their worldly political pursuit and whoredoms. The relatively insignificant problems that they have loosely identified, like a demoralized youth or general cultural degeneracy, are usually the effects of a system that they still support. Almost always is their outrage directed at something other than their own sin and the political systems that were born out of it. They are more concerned that teenagers are dying their hair blue than that thugs in blue rob our people of billions of dollars a year on the roadside alone, not to mention all the plunder of the general system that they enforce.
To them there is no moral problem of the State itself, no real ethical reason to oppose it, but only that this system gets misused by the “wrong people” in power (as if there’s such thing as the “right people” for having power over other men). Most people still don’t see that the underlying political order, which again has its origins in rebellion against God’s order, is inherently corrupt and destined to destroy all that’s in its path. So they keep supporting it and keep believing in the same old lies as always, believing they might be able to squeeze some concessions of liberty out of it if only they keep playing with fire and begging the devil to throw them a bone.
The prophets, on the other hand, would never repeat such tired statist slogans as one commonly encounters in American culture and upbringing. The prophets wouldn’t have been caught dead saying, “This is a free country!” On the contrary, as the prophet Jeremiah said, “For since I spoke, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil” (Jeremiah 20:8). True prophets point out the slavery around them; they do not call the evils of statism “good” and goodness of God’s anarchy “evil.” Far from seeing a “great country” that has brought “freedom” and “peace” to their people, as the narrative of worldly men would have it, prophets like Jeremiah saw the true nature of the scene around them. He saw a political plunder system that was plunderous just as sure as the daylight.
“As a well gushes its water, so she pours out her evil. Violence and destruction resound in her; sickness and wounds are ever before Me” (Jeremiah 6:7).
The prophets did not think that the societies they witnessed were “free” or “godly” ones, as Americans today think of their giant prison camp. As the prophet Habakkuk saw, “Destruction and violence are before me. Strife is ongoing, and conflict abounds” (Habakkuk 1:3).
That the standard political teaching of men is that human government is essential to the defense of freedom and the provision of law, justice, and order stands as one of the best proofs that scripture is the word of God. For if the Bible was the words of men, its political teachings would be statist. It would defend the idea that men are in need of human kings and their armies for their liberty and defense. And yet it teaches the opposite. It says that men who seek human kings and soldiers to protect them are faithless men who have trusted in false gods to save them, and that this grave error is the reason they are being robbed and enslaved today, living under the boot of trillion-dollars governments that not only extort them for all the worth but force them to fund their own oppression and threaten them with prisons and rape for not obeying them. This is how we know the Bible is the word of God: that it is an anarchist manifesto that condemns all the popular statist thinking of the majority of men as sinful.
If anyone wish to know the nature of the social order around them, they must rely on a man of God to tell it to them. Only those men who are in tune with God’s word are able to understand what is going on in our world, and all those who aren’t deep in the scriptures every day do not stand a chance of figuring out the schemes and are most often apologists for them. If one took it from the average man, as most do, they would only hear all the same lies repeated throughout history of the glory of human government and its indispensable place in society.
Knowing who’s lying
So how do we know who’s telling the truth? Popular “wisdom” tells us that the truth is in the majority. So shouldn’t we trust the statist masses against the lone prophets? Wasn’t the prophet Elijah just the one crazy man up against four hundred and fifty men who were right and not crazy (1 Kings 18:22)? Wouldn’t hundreds of college-educated “experts” working for the king know better than the single “crazy guy” who knows the word of God? Don’t they know best that the society around us is actually a “free” one?
As hard as it is to believe, given that most men are of this foolish majority and can’t see their way out of it, the masses are generally foolish and wrong. Everything they think has come from worldly men relying on their own ideas, rather than the wisdom of the Lord that they earnestly sought in private. Most all of them are the dupes of some intellectuals and slaves to their own sinful desires to seek wisdom in their own eyes, rather than fall back on God’s word as their guide. They do not know what’s going on in the world because they don’t search the scriptures daily for understanding, or otherwise believe they can come to knowledge independently of the Lord and His wisdom. Instead, they get their ideas from “intellectuals” (e.g., statist propagandists who work in colleges) who are themselves fools and slaves to an evil system of lies, or from false prophets and so-called “pastors” who are likewise singing the praises of Babylon and adding to their sin taking the Lord’s name in vain.
The main reason we should know men are liars when they preach the supposed greatness of human government is that it’s God’s word that statism must always go broke and bust. Anyone preaching the greatness of statism is a liar, fool, or both. This is the criterion of a false prophet: They prophesy something other than what God’s prophets teach, which is that statist societies destroy people, property, and ultimately civilization. Thus, anyone who tells you that “things are great” as far as the course of statism is concerned is a false prophet. Anyone who says, “Vote for me, I’ll fix everything,” is a false prophet who is spreading a false gospel that specifically stands opposed to the Gospel of God’s Kingdom. Anyone spinning the socialist philosophy of salvation through the State and the central planning board is a false prophet. Anyone who says that society will be fixed with the next piece of legislation, the next round of monetary inflation, more government programs, more police, more soldiers, and more state agents, is a false prophet.
All statists are thus inherently false prophets because they’re telling us, as a necessary assumption of their evil philosophy, that something “great” can come of joining up with the Egyptians or the Assyrians. They tell us, against the word of God through His prophets, that we don’t have to seek God’s divine protection through prayer and repentance, but that we’ll be just fine in a statist order. They tell us that we are not in need of God, only another round of money-printing, another tax, or another piece of legislation.
They are prophesying unto you lies, my brothers. They are demagogues whose promises are incompatible with the scriptures. Their false ideas cannot be checked by God or the prophets. Statists are scheming liars. Amen. God knew it long before we did and He tried to tell us. Praise the Lord that He has been able to show a remnant that these men are liars!
Their lie is this: That they can violate the laws of God with their violent state intervention into the private market system without facing judgment for doing so. They tell people that there are no repercussions, no economic, political, or moral effects like poverty, social degeneracy, or political slavery in general, for introducing violence and coercion into the social order in the form of “taxes,” “laws,” “police,” etc.
Statists think they can do whatever they want without being destroyed for it. They fire up the money printer and brush it off as “deficits don’t matter.” They build up massive militaries and don’t worry how they will continue to fund them. They start wars and do not worry about the blowback for their aggression against others. They raise up political systems and do not fear God’s judgment against them. They never even think that their plunder societies will go up in smoke for all their plundering. Their evil eyes are glued on the loot, which they think to be everlasting. “Sinners say, ‘We will find all manner of precious goods, we will fill our houses with plunder’” (Proverbs 1:13). This is the ignorance and evil of all statists and socialists who think they can substitute central planning boards, politics, and a ruling elite, for God’s natural order: the sinful belief that men can bring peace and prosperity through state plunder.
God comes to upset the plans and schemes of the statists of the world, who thought they could raise up political systems without Him noticing. Destruction comes to all those societies that forsake God to trust in men and their political systems. All statist societies fail every time, and their failure is the evidence that they have existed as ungodly institutions. And praise God that they do! What a loving God that we have, that He will not allow statist tyrants to come down on us forever! Statism doesn’t work. It’s God’s Law. Amen.
Most “men” don’t know that all the governments of men are bound for destruction at the hands of God, because they have rejected the wisdom of the Lord to buy into the statist ideas of men instead, which teach that the only way to have a lasting society is to organize it along the means of political violence. The people of the world—Americans chief among them—are mostly delusional statists who have believed in the plethora of lies spun by statist propagandists, who teach that soldiers and police fight for our “freedom” and our “rights” rather than against them and who tell men that the evil statist empire, which is an ungodly socialist system of men, is a bastion of free markets and liberty.
The word of God comes as a wrecking ball to any man who thinks he can build a statist society without it crumbling on him. It is probably no wonder men don’t want to confront it: It proves their false gods to be, well, false. It proves their promise of peace, prosperity, and freedom under their rule to be false gospels. It undoes all the worldly thinking of men, which led them to believe that they could trust in Egypt for all their social needs, only to find themselves living as captives to men.
